Today we held the annual Service of Remembrance at the Commonwealth War Graves in Jelgava Military Cemetery.
We will remember them.

Every year, 17 October is the day when we commemorate the British sailors who gave their lives in 1919, supporting Latvia's fight for independence aboard #HMSDragon 🇬🇧🇱🇻 1/2
Every Remembrance Day we lay a wreath at the grave of Linda Soomre MBE.
During the long Soviet occuption, Mrs Soomre bravely protected the graves of British service personnel who died in WW1 and the Estonian War of Independence.
We will always be grateful to her.

Moving service of Remembrance today at the Forest Cemetery in Jelgava, where there are 36 graves tended by @CWGC, mostly British servicemen who died as prisoners of war in 1917.

It's the 105th anniversary since HMS Dragon was struck in the Gulf of Riga on 17 October in 1919, while helping the Latvian Army in its fight for independence.
We commemorate the fallen British, French and Irish sailors who lost their lives in defence of Latvia.
