Update from the Liquid Federation:

The Liquid Federation is pleased to announce that the network’s bitcoin reserves have been fully restored, reestablishing 1:1 BTC backing for all LBTC.

This follows the restoration of BTC<>LBTC swaps several weeks ago, which have since allowed users to move between Bitcoin and Liquid at a 1:1 rate through participating swap providers. Together, these milestones represent significant progress in the Federation’s recovery efforts and reaffirm its commitment to the long-term security, stability and resilience of the Liquid Network.

As always, the network’s bitcoin reserves are independently verifiable. Users operating their own Liquid nodes can directly verify the Federation’s Proof of Reserves, while reserve balances and network activity can be monitored through the public dashboard at https://t.co/M46Zhn8nlY.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Bitcoin community, Liquid users, and ecosystem partners for their patience, understanding, and continued engagement throughout the recovery process. Your support and involvement has been instrumental as we worked to restore the network’s reserves and strengthen its underlying infrastructure.

Strengthening the Liquid Network for the Future

Looking ahead, the Federation is advancing several important initiatives designed to strengthen the network’s long-term security, governance, and operational resilience.

These efforts include modernizing the governance structure, introducing clearer responsibilities and oversight, and implementing additional technical and operational safeguards to further protect the network and its participants.

More details on these initiatives and the Federation’s next steps will be shared in the coming weeks.

Restoring full bitcoin backing marks an important milestone, but our work continues. The Federation remains committed to building on the progress of recent years, advancing Liquid’s development, and strengthening the network’s resilience and accessibility for all participants.

@narcelio Concordo, e realmente esse é o melhor caminho. A segurança e o risco ficam para os bancos no início do aprendizado. Acredito que pouco avançam e estudam para auto custódia.

São essas coisas que entendo que pessoas que se interessam por Bitcoin e não são tão nerds ficam com receio de se envolver com o Bitcoin e quando se envolvem vão para o ETF.

Infelizmente um brasileiro perdeu 0.85 BTC com bug da velha, e péssima, Electrum. Sinto muito por ele e torço para que consiga recuperar o mais breve possível!

Mas vamos aproveitar para aprender com os erros cometidos?

• NÃO ECONOMIZE EM SEGURANÇA. Invista ao menos 1% do seu patrimônio nisso.
• Não guarde mais de 1M sats em uma hot wallet
• Não guarde muito dinheiro em um ponto único de falha
• Não use software desatualizado (Electrum no Tails)
• Verifique com cuidado toda a transação que estiver assinando
• Evite usar infraestrutura de estranhos. Tenha seu próprio fullnode.

O roubo não teria acontecido se ao menos um desses itens tivesse sido respeitado.

Bukele a résumé le problème en une phrase : « si vous ne destituez pas les juges corrompus, vous ne pouvez pas réparer le pays. Ils forment un cartel, une dictature judiciaire, et bloquent toutes les réformes pour protéger la corruption systémique qui les a installés ».

Ce n’est pas de la théorie.

C’est ce qu’il a fait au Salvador en 2021, face aux critiques de la « communauté internationale » et de l’administration Biden.

Résultat : le pays est passé de capitale mondiale des homicides à l’un des plus sûrs du continent.

Le laxisme judiciaire n’est pas de la clémence, c’est un bouclier.
Tant que les mêmes juges restent en place, les peines s’allègent, les procédures s’éternisent, les réformes meurent en appel, et le système qui les a nommés continue de tourner.

On appelle ça l’État de droit, eux appellent ça leur place.👌
