I want to love Fall again but I’m scared to. The pain from the past year is still so fresh. But my Dad would never want me to wallow. So instead I’m going to try my best to be really strong this month. To remember all the great times with my Dad and family. I love you Dad.

I want to love Fall. I used to love Fall. But 3 years ago in October I started treatment for breast cancer. Ironic because October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. After chemo, multiple surgeries, radiation and more medications I am doing really well.

But then last year on October 12th tragedy struck when my Dad was killed in a farming accident. I miss him so much and I can’t believe it’s been almost a year since I’ve talked to him. Fall was his favorite season too, like most farmers.

Situation: at car dealership getting oil change. Older man watching Fox News. And talking VERY rudely to his wife on the phone. Very arrogant, dismissive and just plain mean. He better watch out because I have NO patience for that kind of behavior.
