Andy Byford's op-ed is a work of fiction. The truth is that the MTA is standing strong against Trump’s attempted takeover of Penn Station, which could destroy local zoning authorities and force NY residents and MTA riders to foot the bill.
Additionally, the congressional amendment that Byford is cheering for would give Trump and his allies wide-reaching authority over this project, which could destroy local zoning authorities and cost NY residents and MTA riders an unknown amount. It also amends a bad bill which would cut transit funding to New York. As the representative of Penn Station, I am proud to have voted against this amendment and bill. I will continue fighting for transparency, accountability, and oversight of this project so we can deliver a renovated Penn Station that will actually benefit New Yorkers.

If you or a loved one were in Lower Manhattan after 9/11, visit https://t.co/vXTHrpLE0h to learn more and check if you're eligible for assistance through the World Trade Center Health Program.
Government officials must be accountable to the people they serve. In 2001, and for 30 years since, I represented Ground Zero and led local leaders ringing alarm bells about these environmental hazards. We now know that officials like Giuliani intentionally ignored our claims and lied to New Yorkers about the dangers they were facing. The mishandling of these cleanup efforts exposed thousands of New Yorkers and rescue workers to toxins that are still impacting their health.

The rise of fast fashion has contributed to unsafe working conditions, unfair wages, and a decline in high-quality goods produced in the United States. As we close out #NYFW, I’m proud to lead the FABRIC Act with @SenGillibrand to strengthen protections for garment workers and revitalize the US fashion industry with historic investments in domestic manufacturing.

Deciding what to do about the @ManCity financial scandal has become the least enviable job in world sport. And comments by @andyburnham have not done anybody any favours. The UK @PrimeMinister is a football fan. Fine. So was his predecessor @Keir_Starmer who supports @Arsenal . But the PM is an @Everton supporter which is down the road from Manchester, Burnham's former Mayoral parish. He should stay away from all comments about possible penalties which, unhappily, range from A to Z. Many think expulsion from the @premierleague would be too dramatic & harm the innocents involved by association. Everton were docked 10 pts, later reduced to 6. But this situation is worse, involving numerous titles earned under, apparently fraudulent circumstances. So what would be appropriate?
All true. People seem to get very confused by "Nomenclature" . Maybe a bad comparison , but in England a Private, fee-paying school is called a Public School. My Godmother married a man who had lived in @Denmark under @Nazi National 'Socialism'. duing @WW2. That kind of Socialism meant Dictatorship. It had nothing to do with Democratic Socialism.
Senator Mark Kelly is publicly pushing back against Pete Hegseth. Kelly accused Hegseth of removing senior Defense Department leaders for racist and sexist reasons.
Raise your hand ✋ if you support Kelly and simply tired of seeing Pete Hegseth in that office😞
If the immigration concentration camps were suddenly liberated tomorrow, would most Americans be shocked at the stories that would emerge? Would many even refuse to believe what was revealed?
Just back from 4 months in @France@CNN 's European analyst Dominic Thomas refutes @Trump 's assertion that student riots across France are driven by #Immigration problems. "Absolutely not," says Thomas. "The unrest is solely about poor classroom conditions & muddled Education leadership under @PresidentMacron1 "
You disqualify yourself immediately by bringing the word racist into an issue that has nothing to do with race, no matter hard people try. The only person using the word Hate is you but I am highlighting you, maybe unfairly, as a classic example of the kind of person who is ruining the validity of Social Media. Disagree in a civilized fashion. Are you capable of that Maxine Baptiste?
Impossible to know if Xinran Sun was put off by @CocoGauff 's complaint about rotating adverts down side of the court at @ChinaOpen but the point was replayed, Coco won it and Sun's game dipped a fraction after that. Gauff totally within her rights to complain - flickering signs at courtside very distracting & should never happen.
@CocoGauff Well done, Coco (the real @CocoGauff) for letting people know fake accounts are scamming people in your name. Coco never asks anyone for money.
@Rainmaker1973 A lot of people don’t understand that public health is the reason that we are not ill every day from cholera dysentery and other diseases. These men do an essential job that few people realize just how important it is. Plus, it’s really pays well.

@Rainmaker1973 Such a generous and thoughtful way to say thank you to some very hardworking service workers!!!
This young boy obviously has caring parents that are teaching him to be kind😃
@carlosalcaraz is being honest about why he played for a massive amount of money in #SaudiArabia . It was for the money. OK. There is a lot of good he can do for other people with a huge amount of surplus cash & he seems to be the type of young man who will use it well. I just have a problem with regimes who murder journalists (sort of close to my heart) . So the Saudis getting into tennis in a major way is a problem for me. @BillieJeanKing says you can only create change by going there. I respect that. I need more evidence.
Finally finished Charlie Pasarell wonderful book Serving First which I was so happy to help Charlie & @joeldrucker launch at La Jolla. It's all about @PuertaRican heritage, rooming with @ArthurAshe at @UCLA , becoming US No 1 and then literally changing the nation's tennis landscape with his visionary developments in the Coachella Valley. But the theme that is threaded through the whole story is so Charlie....it is Love.
