@NatlParkService do not use cows in Point Reyes National Seashore to graze unwanted plants. The park's Tule elk & deer do a much better, cleaner job. National parks are for wild animals only, not exploited animals fattened for slaughter & profit. #PointReyes#TuleElk
We stopped at a park with some accessible gravel trails for the human to roll on. And a huge field for me to roll on.
It made me happy wiggle and that made her smile which made me even happier.

“The connections we make in the course of life -- maybe that’s what heaven is." ~Fred Rogers
We have had a few arrive here in absolutely terrible shape but overall I think Bodie was the worst.
He spent 19 days in the hospital before making it here, still emaciated with abscesses in his lungs and his mouth, a terrible cough and gastric ulcers that the vet said were the worst he’d ever seen.
He was also bald from rain rot, suffered from anhidrosis and could barely walk. Somehow he came out of it and for a long time lived a good, comfortable life here.
He was crabby and oftentimes difficult, but always super grateful and sweet if he got to know you.
I will forever miss his silly little whinny at feed time and watching him and stormy roam together.
Rest now, Bodie. You are finally pain free and running again. Say hi to George for me and tell him I love and miss him, too.
Thank you for coming into my life and making it better.
Love,
Mama

FULTON COUNTY, GA💔💔💔💔
💔 The Hardest Part Isn't Saying Goodbye. It's Knowing He Expects It.
One day, I'll say goodbye to Thumper.
I hope it's because he finally found his family.
Every day I visit him at the shelter, he's waiting for me with that happy face that somehow makes the whole building disappear for a little while. We go for a walk. We practice a trick or two. We spend time cuddling. For a while, he gets to be somebody's dog.
Then something happens that gets me every single time.
When it's time to head back, Thumper gently leads me to the building and straight to his kennel. He doesn't resist. He doesn't plead to stay outside. It's almost as if he's saying, "Don't get too attached to me. We both know this isn't forever."
I close the kennel door. He takes his treat.
"Until tomorrow, Thumper."
The first time I met him, we could barely get him out of his kennel. It took nearly 30 minutes. He was too scared to walk down the hallway and so timid in the play yard that he almost disappeared into himself.
Then he rolled over for belly rubs.
Right then, I knew there was a beautiful dog hiding underneath all that fear.
A staff member took him home for a few days, and we learned even more about him. He loves other dogs. He loves to romp and play. He just needed a chance to breathe outside the shelter.
Now he's back.
He's still a little unsure of the world. Thumper is a sensitive soul. He's been abandoned before, and I think he remembers. He wants to trust. He wants to believe someone will stay. But life has taught him to be careful with his heart.
I believe the day will come when someone walks into that shelter, clips on his leash, and this time they won't bring him back.
When he finally realizes, "This is my family. This is forever," I think every wall he's built around his heart will come tumbling down.
It will be the best day of Thumper's life.
And if I'm honest... it will be one of the hardest days of mine.
Because I'll miss my little buddy—the dog who has become a constant in my shelter visits for far longer than he ever should have.
Thumper has waited long enough.
It's time someone showed him what forever feels like.
Thumper can be visited at 1251 Fulton Industrial Blvd 11:00am-7:00pm

Eleven days ago at Blue Ridge Animal Rescue in Asheville, North Carolina, a tiny black terrier mix named Wren arrived from a neglect case, Severely underweight Completely shut down. Wouldn't eat.!
Wouldn't lift her head. Staff tried everything for five days. Nothing reached her. Then there was Chester. A twelve year-old Great Pyrenees, Surrendered four years ago. Never adopted. Too old, people say. Too big. But shelter directon Mara says quietly: "Chester has settled more broken dogs than anything else we've tried!" Night five, Chester walked across the kennel and lay down beside Wren. By morning she had eaten her first full meal. Chester is still available for adoption. Still showing up fo the ones nobody else can reach.
A firefighter lost his job after refusing to leave a burning house until he found the family dog.
A house fire broke out in Los Angeles, and by the time firefighters arrived, flames had already spread through most of the home. Everyone inside had been evacuated. Except the dog.
Firefighters searched as long as they could, but the house was getting worse by the minute, and the chief finally gave the order for everyone to pull back before the structure collapsed. One firefighter didn’t leave.
He kept searching through the smoke until he found the dog hiding behind the bathtub, coughing, scared, and barely breathing. He carried him outside, placed an oxygen mask over his face, but the dog went limp, he had to perform CPR.
For a moment, everyone thought it was too late. However, paramedics were able to step in and use emergency equipment, and miraculously brought the dog back.
But days later, the firefighter was fired for disobeying orders and risking not only his own life, but the lives of the crew who might have had to go back in for him.
The story spread fast, and his fellow firefighters didn’t stay quiet. They stood by him, saying he made a dangerous choice, but not a heartless one.
Two weeks later, with the help of public pressure and the support from his crew, he was reinstated, compensated for the time he missed, and allowed to return to duty.
Hi! I'm Milo. 👋🐶
I know...I'm pretty handsome. And yes, this is my favorite chew toy. I figured I'd show it off while I wait for my forever family.
I thought I already found them once.
I came all the way from Georgia as a puppy, and for a while, I had a home. I thought my story was finished. But somehow, I found myself back here, looking out my kennel door and wondering when someone will choose me again.
The good news? I haven't given up.
I'm still the same happy, goofy Boxer mix who loves people, gets excited for treats, and soaks up every scratch behind my ears. I'm about 60 pounds of love, playfulness, and tail wags. I'd do best with someone who appreciates my big personality, and I could even have a canine sibling after a successful meet-and-greet. Kids ages 6 and up are great too!
Every day, I greet visitors with hope. Maybe the next person who stops will be the one who takes me home...for good.
Until then, I'll be right here, keeping my chew toy close and saving plenty of kisses for my future family. ❤️
📍 I'm Milo (#G29839), and I'm waiting to meet you at North Shore Animal League America in Port Washington, NY.
