Been holding my tongue on this one but ahead of London Poppy Day I feel the need to post my thoughts on the RBL.
They are part of, and essentially run the Armed forces covenant scheme, one rule of which that vets should get a minimum of an interview if they apply. I’ve applied for several jobs with them…never even been contacted back, never mind interviewed. Speaking of jobs,
they have recently employed and Equality and diversity rep who’s role is paid £63K per year!! A waste of vital funds that could be better spent. They are sat on millions of pounds that NEVER gets used to help benefit the very people that need it, but it lines their bank account and makes them look good. I’ve had first hand experience of this when I was a Chairwoman at my local branch. But I want to finish by saying this year they have gone to far when it comes to the Poppy. The Poppy is simple, it’s for everyone, whether u are old, young, girl, boy, black, white, vet or civilian to remember the fallen from conflict. It is inclusive in its very nature by being simple and unique. Having a rainbow LQBT version is taking away from that inclusivity not increasing it. It’s already creating a divide. So this year I WONT be supporting ANYTHING to do with the poppy appeal, like many other veterans. I will always be thankful to those who do go and collect on our behalf but I feel they deserve to know where the money they collect goes too…and sadly, it’s not the people who u think ur collecting for, its lining the pockets of those on big wages employed by the @PoppyLegion
Good to see @majesticwine ceo writing a letter to its customers via email explaining in detail about the dangers of the new alcohol duty regime and how it could result in higher wine prices; less choice; smaller producers not working in the UK risk to future of indy merchants

Quite the article from Juan Carlos Sancha about the current crisis in Rioja. As I know from personal experience, anyone who criticises the status quo is branded an “enemy” of Rioja. The opposite is true.
Could your life be unrecognisable in just 11 days?
Two couples each with a secret, find their lives blown apart by the return of an old friend with a life-or- death proposal.
All of them will lose something.
And one will lose it all. #PitchBookouture
@RishiSunak Prime Minister.
The best way to reduce cancer deaths, in the short term, is to reopen the three Rutherford cancer centres.
Capable of helping 20,000 patients a year with some of the most advanced cancer tech in the world.
They currently sit empty.
A scandalous waste.
Another dry-looking #vineyard in #Rioja, with a hot week on the cards and no rain on the horizon at the moment. Saying that, a damp June probably saved the season (except for the hail in places) and things seem to be maturing steadily at the moment.
This visualization uses the visual metaphor of a submerged porthole window to observe how far our oceans rose between 1993 and 2022.

Today is the Day of La Rioja, the land that saw us born 125 years ago and that we can now proudly say that #ToneleríaMurúa is present in many countries around the world carrying a piece of our culture and history in the form of a barrel.
Thank you! 🍷✨🍃
