On Laura’s 6th anniversary, we once again renew her appeal to parents whose teenagers have been offered the HPV vaccine to avail of this life saving opportunity. Combined with cervical screening Ireland can eliminate cervical cancers. #ProtectOurFuture#ThankYouLaura
@DrEilidhMaria I usually find soup handiest for my mid-shift meal, and not too heavy so you don’t get a post-prandial slump compounding the fatigue 😴 usually have some crackers/popcorn etc to hand as snacks but generally don’t need them if I stick to the above! Hope your nights go well 🤍
@DrEilidhMaria The best advice I got around eating on nights was from a friend who is a nurse (so regularly switching day to nights) - keep as close to your usual eating pattern as possible! A reasonable sized dinner pre-shift, a large breakfast when you’re home, and something small mid-shift!
Of the many things that happen in a hospital when the power goes out, one haunts my memory, a story I have also heard over and over from other doctors who also worked in a hospital when it suddenly went dark

@fmcomment @lomanbrophy Frank, you’ve claimed that each doctor trained costs €300,000. It’s been explained numerous times that that figure relates to the post-graduate training of GPs. The undergraduate cost of training doctors is ~ €55,000. All GPs are doctors but not all doctors are GPs…
1/ Doctors in training have been working above and beyond the last 18 months in response to the COVID pandemic. The winter ahead looks bleak in the health service. NCHDs were told about a pay restoration (overtime payments were cut in post 2012 recession) back in June which was
This is so disgusting from Alfie’s. Working in hospitality is hard enough - you accept long & unsociable hours, standing on your feet all day and a certain amount of grief from the public as part of the job. But no one should have to deal with abusive managers on a power trip too
If anyone wants to know what it was like to work in alfies on south william street just know after chasing my last pay for weeks I finally got it but in a bucket of 5c coins.
