As we mark this second anniversary, we reaffirm our dedication to improving the quality of life for the people of Rubirizi district. Entering our third year, we remain steadfastly committed to expanding our reach, deepening our impact, and implementing innovative solutions to rural poverty. Did you know?
By the mid-1960s, Uganda was considered Africa's premier safari destination, surpassing Kenya and Tanzania in wildlife-based tourism Until 1971.
Lake Kamunzuku โ the only transparent lake in Uganda and one of the hidden natural treasures in the western tourism circuit.
I often feel concerned when tourists visit Uganda and return to their countries with over 60% of the money they had planned to spend.
The only way we can fully benefit from tourism is by creating more opportunities, experiences, and activities that encourage visitors to engage longer with our communities and leave more value behind.
From cultural experiences, guided community walks, local craft markets, storytelling, camping, boat rides, birding, entertainment, and food tourism every activity created around destinations like Lake Kamunzuku becomes an opportunity for local people to earn, grow businesses, and improve livelihoods.
