Morning folks! Kiera here and today I'm noticing a plant that is flowering a shining yellow in spite of the drought conditions.

It's also a potent plant of fairies and witches - and still demonised by those with livestock.

On #InternationalWomensDay we remember Sophia Mottram, pictured below with a group of schoolchildren. She became Curator of Lynn Museum in April 1957.
In 1958 minutes of the museums committee recorded that she would continue as curator even though she was married.

Seahenge was given its name by the media, after the famous @EH_Stonehenge, when it was discovered in 1998. It’s a bit of a misnomer, as our Bronze Age timber circle is, in fact, neither a henge nor was it originally built by the sea!

This is an extract from a coroner’s inquest into the death of Giles of Flanders from 1304. Giles accidently died after stabbing himself while trying to prove his Flemish armour was better than any made in England @NorfolkRO

A rarity: a Steelyard, or warehouse, on King’s Lynn quay, built by the Hanseatic League in 1474. The street front was rebuilt in mid-18th century but the old brick warehouses can still be seen behind. Must once have been full of furs, hides and down traded from the far north.

#OnThis Day in 1308, a month after her marriage, Isabella of France was crowned Queen of England in Westminster Abbey. She was the most famous resident of Castle Rising Castle, which from 1331 to 1358 was one of her favourite properties.

Diarist Samuel Pepys was born #OnThisDay in 1633. Pepys served as MP for Castle Rising in 1673.
