The pen-ultimate tweet for tonight because, though I’m usually someone who can find words for almost any situation - tonight I’m really struggling. I’m generally a quieter girl anyway, but never when it comes to the people that mean the most to me. This is so tough.
Cam… what more can I say? I never expected things would end this way for you with Utah - and never in a million years would I have thought that the Baylor game would be the last time I’d see you take a snap for the team in person. I hate it with every fiber of my being that this is likely good-bye, but I can’t help but be so thankful for you and for all that you’ve done for this program, this team - and for me over the years.
You showed me what it was to defy all odds and overcome obstacles that were insurmountable. You stayed positive, optimistic and focused - and showed everyone what a true leader, a champion, a competitor, and a truly good person looks like. Never let anyone take that away from you. It doesn’t matter what the haters, naysayers and critics say - you are more than any of that noise.
I couldn’t be more proud of all you’ve accomplished. No matter where life takes you next - whether it’s a return, heading to your next opportunity (CFB or NFL) - moving on to coaching - I don’t have a doubt in my mind that you’re going to be great. And, I’ll be behind you every step of the way QB1, you can bet on it.
Lots of love, always. ❤️ -Tara
I’m calling on all of the Utes family for some assistance right now. Seeing as there has been a tremendous amount of hate that’s been directed at Cam - I want to challenge everyone to post a comment that shows him just how much love and support there is to go around for him. Love is so, so much stronger than hate - so, let’s show it and show out! ❤️
With "Cans for Cam," we kicked off our Summer Food and Fund Drive and asked the public to bring a monetary donation or a case of food to contribute to the Utah Food Bank. An opportunity to meet with Cameron Rising was offered in exchange. The food drive ends on August 31st.
