Why did #China ban #Bitcoin today?
Capital flight via crypto massively increased due to the #Evergrande crisis which lowers the yuan while they need foreign currencies to pay back their loans (every USD loan)
@CryptoHellspawn@SBF_FTX@AlamedaTrabucco Crypto markets are btw full of rumormongering https://t.co/YKRnbuaZQw wash trading (#FTX and cumberland with #Tether ) and now even spoofing which is easy if your counterparty is a retailer without the capability of real-time surveillance
600mn. Sorry to say, but this could never happen in a real financial system. A benefit of trusted central parties is that they are able to block and return stolen funds

Still in love with #tether 's "new stadard for transparency"
As you might not know: within the midst of August Tether has to provide us with another report on their reserves. Will we see a useless pie chart w/o any explanations again? Or did they learn from the last report?
Wow. #Tether published their "reserves"; this excel chart is really the max transparency we get from a 60bn USD company. And their reserves look even worse than expected. It's basically just loans (loans, comm paper, notes), some fiduciary deposits and not even 4% cash (1/5)
@jerrybrito The narrative changes day by day. 2 months ago all maxis kept repeating #BITCOIN is just used by <1% to launder money and supporting criminal activity- now, after regulators want to exclude just those <1%, they claim this is impossible to control 'by design' #WarnerAmendment

Linear regression of M2 YoY growth versus CPI YoY from 1980.
No correlation and zero R^2, and about the same if one puts any time lag to inflation data.
Inflation can happen but please stop butchering money and assume M2 holds any information value.
@Ashley_ITFC@CryptoWhale@whale_alert To explain it once again: QE just creates bank reserves. This has nothing to do with 'printing money'. They swap gov bonds mostly from pension funds into deposits by creating liabilities on the CB liability side. Those deposits then need to be reinvested and do NOT affect lending
What happens to the inflation narrative of #bitcoin maxis if we're heading into deflation? I predict that the duration narrative will turn again
PMI data, growth rates, yields for HY and IG bonds, the tips market, capex expectations in 2022/23: all indicate decelerating inflation
