While farmers focus heavily on NPK, micronutrient deficiencies — particularly Boron (B) — are silently reducing yield potential across India.

📊 Current Scenario in India
Around 30–35% of Indian soils are reported to be boron deficient, especially in:
Light-textured soils

High rainfall zones

Intensively cultivated belts

Regions under cash crops, fruits & vegetables

Continuous nutrient mining without micronutrient replenishment has worsened the situation.

🔬 Why Boron is Critical for Crops

Boron is essential for:
✔️ Flower initiation and fruit setting
✔️ Pollen viability and seed formation
✔️ Sugar transport and carbohydrate metabolism
✔️ Cell wall development and structural strength
✔️ Root growth and nutrient uptake

Deficiency leads to:
• Flower drop and poor fruit set
• Hollow stem, cracking in fruits
• Low grain filling
• Reduced crop quality and market value
🌾 IFFCO Boron Solutions
🔹 IFFCO Boron-20 (20% Boron)
• High boron concentration for effective soil correction
• Suitable for basal soil application
• Ensures uniform nutrient availability
• Cost-effective solution for widespread deficiency
🔹 IFFCO Boron 14.5%
• Balanced boron formulation
• Improves crop quality and yield
• Suitable for various crops including oilseeds, pulses, fruits & vegetables
• Helps correct moderate deficiency effectively

✅ Benefits of Balanced Boron Nutrition
• Better flowering & fruit retention
• Improved grain filling
• Enhanced crop quality
• Higher yield potential
• Improved stress tolerance
Micronutrients may be required in small quantities, but their impact is transformational. Sustainable agriculture demands balanced fertilization, not just NPK dominance.
Let’s restore soil health with science-backed micronutrient management. 🌍

Today, I had the honour of attending the Mega Co-operative Farmers Conference on “Transforming Agriculture through Cooperative Excellence” at the Dr. Babu Rajendra Prasad International Convention Center, University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS), GKVK, Bengaluru.
Shri Dileep Sanghani Ji @Dileep_Sanghani Chairman, IFFCO was the Chief Guest of the Conference.

As the Guest of Honour, I addressed the farmers and cooperators who attended the same by sharing my thoughts on the future of agriculture and the vital role cooperatives must play in empowering farmers, strengthening rural livelihoods, and delivering meaningful services at scale. IFFCO have always played a vital role in building cooperative growth via innovation and services to farmers. I also said that together we can build a resilient, inclusive, and sustainable agricultural future for our farmers and our nation. @MinOfCooperatn @IFFCO_KA @CNarayanswamy
