it is an unwritten rule of life that after every prolonged period of hardship and uncertainty, there is going to be a period when you are going to achieve quantum leaps across multiple areas of your life. the only requirement is that you do not give up on yourself.
Study the men who stopped drinking, stopped smoking, stopped chasing, and stopped explaining themselves. Their real addiction was never alcohol, women, or attention. It was noise the constant need to escape their own thoughts. Once a man learns to sit with himself in silence, his whole life begins to change.

At some point, you have to let yourself be witnessed - in the work, in the mistakes, in the becoming. You have to survive being wrong without disappearing. You have to let people ask you the difficult questions and resist the instinct to run when the answers embarrass you.
I hate being tired after work. I hate not having energy to do things, and there is no amount of taking vitamins or eating healthy etc that can make up for the fact that working is an exhausting experience.
Nothing will ever convince me that being 12 years old, sitting on the floor of your bedroom, listening to music on a tiny CD player while flipping through a magazine wasn’t one of the most peaceful eras of human civilization.
