Okay, so now that the timeline is finally fixed and mutuals can actually see each other’s posts again, I think it’ll be good to reshare what I’ve been working on.
@fretpracticenow is an AI-driven music practice and production platform for intermediate, advanced and professional guitarists. We’ll expand to other instruments soon.
It has tools like a metronome, ear training, fretboard memorisation, scale practice and chord tools, along with AI backing-track generation, AI chord transcription and stem splitting, with the latter two launching soon. And a huge roadmap for next set of features.
The goal is to build one platform for music practice and production, so guitarists can focus on practising and creating instead of jumping between 15 different apps. And use AI to uplift musicians rather than trying to replace them. I like to say I'm building Claude/Cursor for Music, when only loveables exist.
We started in March, launched the MVP at the end of May, and shipped V1 at the end of June. Android is live, with iOS, desktop and web apps coming soon.
For my Kotlin mutuals: it is built entirely with Kotlin Multiplatform. The UI is Compose Multiplatform, the backend is also built with Ktor in a separate repository, and Python is used only for the AI-related work.
If you’re a guitarist, music teacher, producer, music-tech builder, or simply curious about what we’re building, please ping me. I’d genuinely love to show you the product, hear how you practice today, and understand what would make @fretpracticenow useful enough to become part of your daily workflow.

Okay, can't hold this back.
At @fretpracticenow we've internally achieved AI chord transcription and stem splitting. (Not yet released publicly).
Not a big deal in the larger world, since tools already exist for this.
But for us, it's huge.
A tiny team, tight constraints, and still we got this working.
One more step towards making FretPractice the most complete practice companion for guitarists.

I used to love Google Stitch and have been using it regularly since the beta days. It was my go-to for generating design ideas before involving designers.
Until today.
I've been using Claude for coding and documentation for over a year, but this was my first time trying it for design. I pasted the exact same prompt and files I had given to Stitch.
I expected a marginal improvement.
What I got was far beyond anything I had imagined.
At this point, I don't think I'll be using Stitch again... unless I run out of Claude tokens. 😂
Can you tell if this backing track was AI generated... just by listening? 🎸🤖
We recently shared a backing track and asked people to guess.
The twist?
It was AI generated.
Built using Dhun AI @fretpracticenow, our in-house music generation engine powering FretPractice.
The line between human-created and AI-assisted music is getting blurrier every day.
Could you tell the difference?
We're launching it publicly next week.

My team recently sat down with @chandreshkudwa to talk about @fretpracticenow and the future of music practice and education.

As we continue building FretPractice, we're spending time with professional musicians, teachers, and creators to better understand the real challenges around practicing, tracking progress, student engagement, and running a modern music teaching business.
If you're a professional musician or educator, we'd love to hear your perspective. Your feedback is helping shape what we build next.
And if you're passionate about the future of music education, creator tools, or music-tech in general, we're always happy to connect and exchange ideas.

A consulting engagement I was working on recently wrapped up, which means I now have capacity for a few new projects.
Over the last 13 years I've helped build and scale mobile products at companies including JioCinema, Paytm, Gojek, Meesho and BYJU'S.
Areas I typically help with: Android & iOS, Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP), Mobile architecture, Performance & reliability, AI-powered mobile experiences, Engineering leadership
I'm a Google Developer Expert (Android/Kotlin), author of 3 Kotlin books, speaker, mentor.
If you're building or scaling a mobile product, let's talk. DMs are open.

Week 2 of building FretPractice 🎸
Plan for this week:
- Fretboard memorisation exercise
- Structured practice sessions
- Start integrating AI assist for Jamming
Goal: help guitarists stop guessing and start practicing with intention.

And guess what I'm using to build it for Android, iOS, Desktop and Web?
Compose Multiplatform. It enables me to build faster than any other platform, while sharing code, but still having stable and reliable codebase.

And if you have guitarist friends — please send it to them. 🎸
Early feedback from real players will shape what we build next.

I (as part of @MobrioStudio) started building a new app for guitarists last week. 🎸
It's called FretPractice.
The goal is simple:
Help guitarists practice smarter, not just longer.
Week 1 progress 👇

That's interesting.
I'm also developing something in this space!
I'm working on Mobrio Files+, which is an AI-powered file manager targeting Android first, with a desktop version coming next.
Although my approach is a bit different and obviously open-source–driven, I'm still glad to come across this.
Sharing a short demo video that I first showed at @GDGAhmedabad #DevFest.

Well now the sama openai saga has been settled, we can focus on other matters.
For example, subscribing to my channel @RivuTalks https://t.co/wrZQMjz33r and enjoying the podcasts 🤷♂️😂
I have interviews with @arpit_bhayani@championswimmer @malkani_faiz @swpnlbrkr@prajyotm@pareshmayani and many more published. Even more on the way.
