@acoyne I liked your recent article on the Albertan separatists. What is your take more generally on provinces of a country seeking autonomy? Under what circumstances is it valid? Europe has several recent-ish examples where Canada has recognised unilateral cessations.
@Alangalaxy213@GasBuddyGuy Once inventories are drawn down, we need covid-level demand destruction to balance the market (c.15mmbd) but this time round it needs to be price driven destruction
Could get very bad if Trump admin doesn’t sort this out ASAP
The conclusion from this is that the circa £30bn in tax rises were not needed to fill in a mythical black hole but to pay for Starmer’s expensive decisions to reverse welfare reform, reintro the winter fuel allowance and scrap the two-child benefit cap. People might feel they were conned.
@mrianleslie This is absolutely shocking. Who did the cost benefit on this? They should be imprisoned ! Another £700m into consumer bills. This county has lost its mind
@BrankoMilan Indeed. In the case of Kosovo, NATO/EU bombs were the enabling factor of a violent change in Serbia’s borders.
When NATO supports a violent change in borders, it is simply just a ‘humanitarian intervention’.
@LeclairLar@acoyne Absolutely. My point is that Zelenskyy needs options to choose from. A shitty term sheet can always be negotiated in to the benefit of the Ukrainians. It’s for the Ukrainians to decide if a bad deal is worse than losing more lives in the near term.
@Ed_Miliband Sign long term, fixed price, cheap as chips gas deals with North Sea operators and stop blaming the solution as the problem
You’re ideologically driven, it gets in the way of delivering real solutions for this country
@ira_joseph NFE is absolutely not relatively valuable, at least on an equity basis. It is overburdened by debt. They just sold their main cash cow in Jamaica.
The only way it survives is Wes steps in and injects more capital. Good for debt, bad for equity
Either way, bad investment
