@lightningmanAB@MorganLaidler@JayLesykWX I had the low contrast view from the east as it was dissipating, but someone closer did say they saw dust getting kicked up at the base of the funnel as it was near the Strathmore Airport.
@IWeatherON Iβll be able to pull a vid off my camera later of when it was dissipating. Never got it when it was condensed 80% of the way to the ground as it only lasted five second before it began to dissipate.
Beautiful! Canada is no longer in the Stone Age. First storm-based polygon in Canadian history has been issued for a severe thunderstorm warning south of Coal Valley, Alberta! #abstorm
One month later, and Alberta is still on a roll. Out of the 27 confirmed tornadoes so far, seven have been significant (β₯ EF-2), which is now the most on record in a season. The previous record was six in 2019.
With six new tornadoes confirmed from June 15, Alberta is now sitting at 19 tornadoes in 2026, well above the climatological average for this point in the year as we approach peak season in July.

Crazy video of debris being lofted on the south side of Rocky Mountain House earlier today appears to be legit, and taken on the corner of 42 Ave and 45 St looking SE. #abstorm
