Since launching the Incident Management Support Team (IMST), @AfricaCDC and the @WHOAFRO have strengthened emergency response systems like never before.
For the first time, both organizations are working under the Four-One Principle—one team, one plan, one budget, one framework—to coordinate a continental #mpox response.
As the outbreak expands across 22 Member States, this level of coordination is not just historic: it is essential.

1. “Together, these crises create the conditions for a perfect storm. As we acknowledge the urgent connection between health and our changing climate, we know that we will not have healthy people if we do not have a healthy planet.”
We are immensely grateful for your substantial pledge of $2 million towards the construction of the @AfricaCDC's Eastern Africa Regional Coordination Centre @Eastern_RCC. This Regional Centre will undoubtedly bolster our collective response to health challenges in the region.

A recent study by @AfricaCDC shows inadequate National #CHW programs financing & sustainability, where only 21% of 42 #AU MSs that participated in the survey have a community health worker investment case & only 26% have a budget line for payment of #CHWS. We can change this!
It was exciting to lead the @_AfricanUnion / @AfricaCDC team to join the #WHO, Member States & other partners for “The Walk the Talk: Health for All Challenge” to promote solidarity and echo the call for physical and mental health as we prepare to kickstart #WHA76 later today.
Our health systems cannot be effective if we do not acknowledge and prepare for risks and pressures outside the health system itself. That is why we are currently responding to the growing cholera outbreak in multiple countries ~ [1/2]
