Real religion or Dharma means that which does not change, our eternal nature. It is not just a faith designation--like Hindu, Christian, Muslim, Jew etc--which are merely external labels that one can change at any time. Dharma is the intrinsic nature of a thing, like the wetness of water. Our inherent nature is service, we must always serve something, even if it's just our own senses and mind. But our service should be directed to the Supreme Lord in loving surrender. That is real religion and it cannot be materially designated. It is the relationship of the pure soul with God, known in Sanskrit as sanatana (eternal) dharma.
