This tough 74-year-old man, recovering from a stroke and living alone, hears a criminal prying open his window in broad daylight. He grabs his gun, fires one shot, and drops the invader right there. The wounded thug jumps back in the car with his girlfriend, drives off, and calls 911 with a fake drive-by shooting story.

But cameras caught everything. The burglar and his accomplice got charged. This is real self-defense. Thanks to his gun, the old man protected himself when a drugged-up criminal picked him as an easy target.

Criminals ignore gun laws. They attack the weak. This proves why law-abiding people must stay armed – guns equal the fight against stronger threats. Respect to this senior who refused to be a victim!

The IEDC signed a $1,046,000 partnership with IBJ Media.

According to the agreement, IBJ will:
• Produce 19 regional economic development reports
• Create 19 custom videos
• Host 19 "Innovate Indiana" events across the state
• Promote them with TV, radio, newsletters, podcasts, digital ads, social media, and print coverage
• Provide 50 complimentary registrations for local officials and dignitaries at every event

2026: $499,500
2027: $547,000

Total: $1,046,000

And don't forget... Indiana's gas tax goes up again on August 6.

So, while you're paying more at the pump, the state is spending your money on reports, videos, events, and a statewide PR campaign to promote itself.

The Ship They Could Not Raise, Off the northwest shore of Ford Island, a narrow white bridge reaches out toward water that hides more than it shows. Beneath the surface lies USS Utah, a Florida-class battleship that took two torpedo hits in the opening minutes of the attack on Pearl Harbor and rolled over within minutes.

Utah had already been stripped of her main guns and repurposed as a target and training ship years before the war reached her. On December 7, 1941, that made her expendable in almost every sense but one: the men aboard her that morning were just as gone as anyone on Battleship Row.

Fifty-eight sailors lost their lives when she capsized. Only four were ever recovered and laid to rest ashore. The other fifty-four remain inside the hull to this day.

After the Navy successfully rolled the capsized USS Oklahoma back upright, they tried the same operation on Utah, rigging seventeen winches to rotate her hull off the harbor floor. She never gripped. Instead she slid toward Ford Island, and the effort was called off for good. Unlike Oklahoma, Utah was judged not worth the cost of saving, so she was left exactly where she came to rest.

A small memorial went up across the water in 1972, easy to overlook next to the crowds drawn to Arizona a mile away. But the fifty-four men still aboard Utah kept the same watch, on the same morning, in the same harbor.

More than eight decades after the attack on Pearl Harbor, USS Arizona (BB-39) still lies beneath the waters of the harbor where she was destroyed on December 7, 1941. The battleship rests in relatively shallow water, with significant portions of her hull remaining on the seafloor despite the immense damage inflicted during the attack.

The explosion that tore through her forward magazine destroyed much of the bow and caused the loss of more than 900 sailors and Marines, whose remains are still entombed within the wreck. For this reason, USS Arizona is not simply a sunken battleship, but a protected war grave and one of the most significant military memorial sites in the United States.

Above the submerged hull stands the USS Arizona Memorial, completed in 1962. The structure was deliberately designed to span the wreck without resting directly upon it, allowing the battleship to remain undisturbed below. From the memorial, visitors can look into the water and see parts of the ship that still remain beneath Pearl Harbor.

Even today, the wreck continues to change. Corrosion and marine growth slowly affect the remaining steel, while small amounts of fuel oil continue to escape from the ship, producing the phenomenon widely known as the “black tears” of USS Arizona. The site is carefully monitored by the National Park Service and the U.S. Navy, ensuring that the wreck remains both a protected historic site and a lasting memorial to those who never returned from the attack.
