Arts Alive today is a tradition and we were super excited to have it back after the pandemic! Seeing the kids’ faces and creativity made my day! I had a blast planning it with my colleague Ms. S!
Loved seeing young artists in action today at DAS, where 8 different rooms were set up for kids to create! Grateful to the parent, staff and community volunteer artists & teachers who organized “Arts Alive” this year! Here is a sample of the self-portraits. @SchoolTdsb

In Science, we discussed buoyancy as part of our unit on liquids and solids. Ss wrote down their hypotheses - whether the object will sink or float? @SchoolTdsb
The grade 2s investigated how fast liquids flow in their first experiment. They wondered which liquid would be the fastest and the slowest - honey, soap or toothpaste?
Today in Room 7, we acknowledged National Truth and Reconciliation Day and Orange Shirt Day. We spoke about why each of us are wearing an orange shirt and what we can do.
We discussed how when children went to residential schools they were forced to speak French or English & not speak in their Indigenous language. We drew & wrote about how we would feel if we had no choice & we’re expected to speak another language.
We looked at different images to see what we noticed and wondered before reading Phyllis’s Orange Shirt. We discussed what 300 sleeps looks like and feels like. @OrangeShirtSoc@SchoolTdsb
