Not sure why this warrants its own story given Goldman is the lead underwriter on SpaceX's IPO and is responsible for selling this thing.

what is click bait about this? what a meaningless label.
the fact is meta has not been transparent with its plans on facial recognition for years
two simple questions: does meta plan to incorporate facial recognition into its glasses? if no, why do your devices have code with facial recognition tech in them?

@capitolhunters That's called reporting and doing the actual work to talk to people who may have interacted with him or understand his thinking. Try it some time before making unfounded allegations.
As Milei's government readies a golden passport program to given citizenship to those that invest in Argentina, one billionaire has already laid down roots in the country: Peter Thiel.
The Arg gov has already considered offering Thiel residency or citizenship.
@capitolhunters You made a bullshit allegation that our story was "heavily curated" by Thiel's allies. That allegation is completely fabricated and untrue.
If you think that deserves a polite response, again, go eat some rocks.
gonna sound like a homer here (and sure you can quibble with the NYT's coverage or argue it isn't for everyone) but to say it's failing is just... wrong? look at the sub numbers.
it's funny to watch these ppl join the fp and just get a sudden need to sound like they're doing something so innovative
Born in Germany and raised in the US, Thiel already has US citizenship and obtained New Zealand citizenship in 2011. I reported he was in the process of applying for a Maltese passport in 2022.
Argentina may be his latest backup plan.

@TeslaBoomerMama@Patryn23@nytimes I've answered your question. Yet it's interesting how, when confronted with actual source material, you persist with your wrong assumptions.
Musk's SpaceX comp package is different from Tesla. We lay that out in the story, which is based on reporting and actual checking of facts
@TeslaBoomerMama@Patryn23@nytimes Again, you should read the actual filing. Here's the company saying it is "not required to have a majority of its board composed of independent directors."
And if you believe Musk's friends and a Tesla exec on the SpaceX board are truly independent, I have a bridge to sell you.
@TeslaBoomerMama@Patryn23@nytimes You "assume" because you did not read the actual filing or do the reporting.
If you read the actual filing, it is clear: "1,302,072,285 shares of restricted Class B common stock issued to and held of record by Mr. Musk, which may be voted by Mr. Musk."
https://t.co/l6LuNr7ANE
In Jan, Musk received a pay package w/ 1.3 billion restricted shares. To earn them, Musk had to create a Mars colony w/ 1 million people + other goals.
BUT (!) Musk can already vote those shares. They contribute to his 85% voting dominance at SpaceX ahead of its IPO.
This account in particular spent years building a following by aggregating reporting, often without citation, with a bent favoring Musk and his worldview. And now he's bit the hand that feeds.
It's interesting to watch big accounts on Musk's X develop large followings partly by being sycophantic to Musk, and then to lose their clout as soon as they do one thing that displeases him.
