This is the beauty of the WBC:
A 29-year-old bearded electrician from Ostrava, Czechia who has played baseball his whole life in a country where very few play the sport helps Czechia qualify for its first-ever WBC, strikes out Shohei Ohtani on a pitch he says came out of his hand wrong, and becomes one of the faces of the Classic.
Ondřej Satoria, who is retiring from the national team after this tournament, will leave Japan where he gets stopped for autographs and photos and receives standing ovations, and fly back to Ostrava where he’s a normal guy with a simple life.
And while no one back home is stopping him in the streets for autographs, imagine the stories he’ll have for his 2-year-old son when he grows up.

We are going to see soon that 1000s of players made mistakes. Coach nails it. Stop worrying about a check. Start enjoying life. Most of those in the portal just made their college experience more expensive and many just ended theirs.

Society has normalized energy drinks and pre-workouts but that doesn’t make them healthy.
Pre-workout powders and energy drinks like Celsius aren’t designed for young athletes. Most are packed with stimulants that can raise heart rate, disrupt sleep, and mask fatigue rather than fix it.
What young athletes really need isn’t more caffeine it’s sleep, hydration, balanced nutrition, and real food fuel.

At a minimum some non-negotiables for student athletes should be:
-Eating 2 breakfasts
-Eating carbs before workouts and protein after
-Hydrating before, during and after training
-At least 7-8 hours of sleep 4x/week but more is better
Athletes have higher calorie, nutrient and rest demands than their non active peers. You may not like to hear it but student athletes need to prioritize their time effectively to be successful.
It takes what it takes. 👍
