A source close to Pope Leo XIV tells me the pontiff is expected to condemn President Trump’s strike against Iran and appeal for peace during his Sunday Angelus.
The source said the U.S-born pope views the strikes as “immoral, illegal, and a grave threat to the entire human family.”
If Sunday’s remarks come as expected, they will represent one of Pope Leo’s most forceful and direct public confrontations with President Trump since his election on May 8, 2025, and the latest chapter in what has become the defining moral clash of this pontificate. https://t.co/WZweu4cA5z
Since Lent began, my timeline has been filled with Catholic content and it’s honestly beautiful to see. I just hope we keep this same energy after Lent.
✝️🇸🇻 El Salvador — “The Savior” — was originally called:
“Province of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior of the World.”
Its very name is a public confession of faith:
A nation placed under the Kingship of Christ.
President Bukele: “Our nation’s name proclaims Jesus Christ as the Savior of the World.”
