Something new is coming to RNS.
We’re excited to introduce Rheumor Has It, the new RNS podcast created for rheumatology nurses and advanced practice providers.
Our first episode, “ANA, RF, ESR, and CRP…Oh My!”, features host Sheila Behimehr, NP, breaking down some of the most common rheumatology labs and what they really mean in clinical practice.
It’s practical, relevant, and designed to give you information you can take back to your practice.
Episode 1 drops October 15, 2026.
Stay tuned for the launch of Rheumor Has It as we bring more conversations, education, and perspectives from across rheumatology directly to you.
Listen to Rheumor Has It on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music & wherever you get your podcasts.

✨ Meet Amanda “Mandy” Karam, DNP, CPNP-PC!
Mandy is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in Pediatric Rheumatology at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore and currently serves as the RNS National Pediatric Chapter Leader. She is also the Chief Pediatric Newsletter Editor for RhAPP and has been practicing in pediatric rheumatology since 2021.
Mandy first became involved with RNS in 2022 after being invited to present a livestream on juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA). Since then, she has continued to share her expertise through presentations and webinars while becoming increasingly involved in the RNS community.
“What I value most about RNS is the opportunity to represent pediatric rheumatology and give a voice to a part of our specialty that can sometimes be underrepresented.”
As National Pediatric Chapter Leader, Mandy is especially excited about growing the pediatric community within RNS. Her goal is to create more opportunities for pediatric nurses and APPs to connect, share resources, learn together, and have their voices represented within the organization.
And when she isn’t talking rheumatology? You can probably find Mandy traveling and exploring somewhere new with her husband or spending time with her two dogs, Caramel and Chloe! 🐾
We’re so grateful to have Mandy helping strengthen the pediatric voice within RNS.

Meet Virginia Vecchio, MBA, BSN, RN, CPN, Lead Nurse in Pediatric Rheumatology at Children’s Health in Dallas, TX, and a member of the RNS Board of Directors! 🖤
For Virginia, RNS started as a way to connect with other nurses who truly understand the unique world of rheumatology. Today, those connections have grown into opportunities to serve, collaborate, and give back.
“The connections! Rheumatology is such a specialized world, and RNS gives us a community where we can learn from one another, share ideas and resources, and support each other.”
Virginia is looking forward to chairing the RNS Education Committee for 2027–2028 and finding new, engaging ways to support rheumatology nurses in their everyday practice. She’s also excited to celebrate RNS’s 20th anniversary in San Antonio in 2027!
We’re proud to highlight the nurses who make the RNS community so special. Thank you, Virginia, for sharing your RNS story! 💜
