A lesson i learned the hard way is to always be prepared to stand alone. People will just switch up on you in a second like you mean nothing. You have to have your own back and be ready to hold your own.
Be there for you.
What I love about this show is that if you’re the main gf or wife watching you will be angry. If you are a side chick yomntu watching you will be angry. If you are a guy and there’s a loose friend in your circle or a brother with no bro code, you will be angry. 😂
This Litigation thing is tiring.
You're battling Clients that want you to spend sleepless nights working on their processes, whilst they snore at home, you're struggling hard to ensure you file your processes within time, your brain is a conglomerate of numerous facts from different facts that you have to put before the court in compliance with strict procedural and statutory provisions.
You're dealing with colleagues who are in the habit of dragging innocuous applications and seeking baseless adjournments and Senior Colleagues who see themselves as demigods, whilst dealing with harsh economic realities.
Then you have to go to court, with the possibility of being told to kneel down like a Primary 3 Student whose name was written in the list of noise makers.
Litigation = The height of Legal humiliation ritual.
Me: Barrister, someone owes me money. 300k.
Lawyer: Do you have any proof to that effect?
Me: No.
Lawyer: Write to him and ask him to pay you 350k.
Me: Sir, but what he owes me is 300k.
Lawyer: Don’t worry, just do as I have told you.
Me: Okay, sir.
I then wrote to the person who owed me, asking him to pay me 350k.
His reply was: “What I owe you is 300, not 350.”
I then showed the Barrister the reply I had received from him, and he said, “That is the evidence we will use against him.”
😹😹😹😹😹😹
Any love I have given you is yours to keep. I will never ask for it back, never regret it, never treat it as wasted. Love was never a trade. It was a gift I offered because, in those moments, you mattered.
Boss: “You arrived 10 minutes late.”
Employee: “Yesterday I stayed late finishing that last-minute report.”
Boss: “I understand… but rules are rules.”
The next day, the employee arrived exactly on time.
And at 5:00 p.m. sharp, shut down the computer.
No extra emails. No work taken home.
If punctuality is non-negotiable, then effort must have boundaries too.
Recognition cannot be one-sided.
When mistakes are highlighted but dedication is ignored, the real message becomes clear:
“Do only what’s required. Nothing more.”
Empathy costs nothing.
The absence of it? That can cost you everything—especially your best people.
A woman working 40+ hrs a week, paying for her own hair, nails, rent, car, food, gas, handling everything by herself, is not going to be the soft, feminine woman you expect her to be. And no, she can't bring you peace when she's in survival mode.
