My salary is low because it's predicated on the fact that I am in a two-income household (I'm not). Introducing women into the workforce inflated the employee pool and deflated wages. Your income, especially as a mid-career man, should be roughly 1.5-2x, before actual inflation.

The average middle-aged man earns about $78k gross. Double it for the single-breadwinner equivalent and its $156k. Adjust for 25-30% real inflation since 2020 and you get $195k–$203k today.

And we haven't even touched immigration further depressing wages and taking jobs.
