Stacey & her workmates strive every day to make our roads safer for you & your family. Slow down around roadworks & help keep her safe too.
There can be lifelong consequences to speeding through roadwork sites which can be devastating for the driver as well as fatal for roadworkers.
When you’re driving through roadworks, please be roadworker aware, slow down & take care.
Your speed is our safety.
#RoadSafety
Our thoughts are with Mr Janssen & family. Too many of our vulnerable, especially those whose jobs place them in harm's way, are killed or injured in preventable road crashes. Everyone has a right to #GetHomeSafe to their loved ones... Every day... No Exceptions! Pls #DriveSOS
We are united this week in grief following the tragic loss of a traffic controller in Western Australia last week. TMAA is vocal to government demanding safer practices by drivers in and around roadworks. Slow down. #yourspeedisoursafety#seetheconesobeythezones#driveSOS#TMAA
16th Jan 2013. #SuzanneCaudell , a traffic controller, was killed when a truck driver drove on the road verge at 106kmph in a 60kmph work zone and he brutally and viciously sent her flying 50m down the road. I visited the site today.
100 months ago Sarah was killed in a totally avoidable crash that shocked #Oz. So how is it acceptable that since that day, 10,000 more #Aussies have been killed & 40,000+ seriously injured? Join us & show U actively protect those who are vulnerable on our roads! #DriveSOS#NRSW
All too often, roadworkers lives are placed at risk by fatigued drivers falling asleep behind the wheel and crashing into their roadwork sites. This is VERY good advice!
#DriverFatigue Please don't ignore the early warning signs of driver fatigue take a break on your journey this long weekend. Free cuppa is over for 2020 but driver fatigue continues. Stay safe @RoadSafetyWest
The number of lives lost on Victoria’s roads has dropped dramatically with 19 fewer people killed in the month of May than during the same period last year. Story via @geelongaddy . #roadsafey#saferoads
Too many Australian roadworkers have been injured on the job by speeding drivers as they try to maintain our streets and highways for the community.
We support #injuredworkersday.
Today we commemorate #injuredworkersday in Aus for the first time - because 80,000 workplace injuries a year is far too many.
We stand with injured workers and their families today, and every day. #springst
Today is #FatalityFreeFriday so let's aim for zero lives lost on our roads, today and every day. 🚙🚛 Take a moment before you drive off to remember that life is incredibly precious. 💛 Who will you be driving safely for?
Every year, around 1200 people are killed on Australian roads. That is a horrible statistic. One death is one too many. You can make a difference. #Takethepledge and #ChooseRoadSafety this Fatality Free Friday.
Road Safety is everyones responsibility.
@AusRoadSafety
Each year 32000 Australians are seriously injured on our roads. 1200 are killed or 3.75%. This is more than 3 people per day die in Australian Roads. Friday is Road Fatality Free Day. Join in. I have a yellow ribbon on my car for Road Safety #DriveSoOthersCanSurvive
Drivers distracted by mobile phones are a major danger to the people who work to maintain our roads as well as the general public.
Get your hand off it!
If you're caught driving with a phone in your hand you can be fined $1,000 and get 4 demerit points.
So how many demerits will you cop if you're caught driving with a phone in your hand a second time within a year?
Received this award for my book, which I humbly suggest is a good read, it will make you smile, laugh and cry like a baby. Buy on line or by direct message myself
Thanks to Lockelin Ferguson for sharing his story of a horrifying near-miss on a roadwork site, and thanks also to Bundaberg Now for supporting roadworker safety.
“A truck driver ignored the 40 kph speed limit and while travelling between 80 and 100 kph, his vehicle’s side-view mirror missed our traffic controller’s head by only a few centimetres.”

When you’re leaving roadworks, it’s important to know the signs.
This is the last sign you will see when driving through roadworks. It marks the end of the roadworks and tells you that, after passing the sign, the road’s normal speed limit applies.
