Working on some serious upgrades to Roaman Pub. These changes will make it much prettier and easier to use for most people.

This update will launch alongside the Roam API.

Also, if you want to generate sites you can use Static-Roam which is the actual site-generation code. I don't really maintain it atm but if you want to fork it or submit a PR, feel free https://t.co/9aF0qbIyKR

Announcement: I've decided to stop maintaining Roaman Pub for the foreseeable future. The way I had the backend set up was too much $ to keep running with $0 MRR, I've lost interest and it's no longer a priority, and I have a new job that has been taking more of my focus.

[Roaman Pub @RoamanPub]

I also still have the database of users running. If you want me to remove your info out of concerns for privacy or whatever, just DM me and I'll get to it.

EVERYONE: Are any of you in Austin, TX? Gonna be arriving Feb 2 and staying for (*at least*) a few months. Let me buy you coffee / beer / etc.!

[Roaman Pub @RoamanPub]

@meekaale @metaLulie Yes, Roaman Pub is currently in alpha but I'm working on a (much) new and improved version everyday. @metaLulie, lmk if you want to hear more or give feedback or anything of the sort.

Substack for public zettelkastens

[Roaman Pub @RoamanPub]

Hasn't left my mind though, that's for sure.

Speaking of this, development has been halted over the last few weeks. I'm trying to get enough money together to work on it full time but until that happens, development will either be a little bit in the evenings and will have to take lower priority. :/ https://t.co/S7VyLiWvBo

On the same page here. As I continue working on RP over the coming months, I'm building with an eye towards being able to self-host. Which also probably means having it be open source. We'll see. https://t.co/LQFCmoymet

A brief history of the next decade

Media & social media corporations censor
People go to Substack and other apps
Those too get censored, and pressured
People go to Ghost & self-hosting
Crypto soars in the meantime
Decentralized hosting, payments, DNS become feasible

Truth wins

Most courses should be resources.

Creators, please stop wasting our time. Give to-the-point help to solve specific problems. I don’t want to sit through another hour-long lecture in Zoom to distill one tiny bit that’s useful.

@learning20201 @nickredmark @RoamResearch Yes 👍. @nickredmark if you need any sort of assistance in using it, please don't hesitate to send me a DM or even just email [email protected]. I know the current UX can be confusing. Improvements will be coming

[Roaman Pub @RoamanPub]

@rroudt @calhistorian Yup! I'm a little more shaky on the "rolling out alongside the API stuff" because of events of my own life but the next version of Roaman Pub will use the API. https://t.co/nWdIYxi8RM

Was Roaman Pub mentioned in a group chat somewhere? Sudden bump in interest and sign ups these last 24 hours 🤔. Wait till the update rolls out

[Roaman Pub @RoamanPub]

@kwharrison13 @RoamResearch @tferriss You'll be able to do it sooner than you might think!

@AlexandruGlv Thanks!
