@Diller9333@t0rktanks I just don’t trust Harris in free agency. His track record is awful and I fear he’ll overall to keep him or be suckered into a bad trade.
@Diller9333@t0rktanks 4y/$80M was my original offer. Seems standard the last 2-3 years for higher end arms to have opt out. I think at those terms we can agree for the value, it’s a quality offer and be the Ace. We won’t be paying Jobe or Olsen anytime soon and Madden/Melton already have injuries.
Last night's outing by Casey Mize was unlike any other in franchise history.
Across 126 years of Tigers baseball, he's the first pitcher to throw 7+ shutout innings with 10+ strikeouts, while allowing zero walks and no more than one hit.
#DNMW
@FrediThePizzamn He’ll be lucky to get a sheet with a 5th year as an option. Given the recent trend, I expect him to require an opt out after year 2. If so, 4 years max probably. But he hasn’t been healthy AND good long enough to command $30M AAV lol. 4y/$80 or $100M, no more.
@Diller9333@t0rktanks If you come in as top dollar offer, I can’t imagine he’d turn it down just out of spite. Close, sure. But money talks and if they wanna pay a few million more a year to make up for the $25K arb squabble, he’s worth it. Plus it would make him the Ace
@BosscherBen Mize, 4y/$80M w/incentives. Extend Montero similar to a Colt deal (3y/$21M). If he walks and Framber too, you’re left with a young core ravaged by injuries in Jobe/Olsen with no vets (Framber, JV, Skubal, Flaherty) remaining.
@sstrvdel@BosscherBen Framber has 1 more year left plus 2 years of mutual options. I could see him being traded next year at the deadline. Or this offseason, if they extend Mize. If he’s not bitter about the $25K arb, I’m fine giving 4y/$20M AAV (with incentives). Currently projected $12-15M base AAV
@confusion_reign Keider has had a solid 3 year stretch and has done things Melton, Jobe, Olsen and Madden haven’t done. That’s why. If you saw his last start, that’s the deepest a Tiger had gone into Mize last night. Plus he has the only CGSO last 2 years out of the entire rotation.
@Bigmac161616@tigers He’s 100x better than Matt Sheppard. That was the most brutal run of TV/Radio in 30+ years for the Tigers. Benetti at least isn’t a wet napkin.
@IYKbaseball@bythewaybro Remember when Avila made 12 signings and trades over 4 weeks and only 1 panned out? Harris a a geriatric fetish. Avila was tasked with the kiss of death: dismantle, strip away big contracts and rebuild from the bottom up. He did a wonderful job. Harris is screwing up core 1
@LeylandsLung@TigersData Offense sucks. Been most unclutch during this year 3 recycled garbage. Carpenter has had big moments but isn’t even liked enough by Hinch to be a daily hitter, but let’s sit him for Jones, Vierling, Perez or Outman. What a farce of a job Hinch has done and Harris. Show them out
@KFletchGaming If Mize isn’t totally bitter about the $25K in ARB I’d be fine giving him an extension to be the pseudo ace post Framber. 4y (option for 5th) around $20M AAV (including incentives). He would anchor Melton, Jobe, Olsen and Montero with any prospects from Skubal trade.
@971theticketxyt He only wins by cheating and the most luck cashed in at 0.4%. AJ sucks. Nice guy, awful manager. Clean house. Harris can go too. Bigger problem is that we won’t see a new owner anytime soon. One serious about winning.
Dillon Dingler leads the majors with 33 two-out RBI this season.
He's one of only four Tigers in the last 50 years to exceed 30 two-out RBI before the All-Star Break, joining Miguel Cabrera (37, 2013), Prince Fielder (34, 2013) and Mickey Tettleton (34, 1993).
@AkilBadd00Fan@KingBob_______@cmccosky Nobody cares about being a participation certificate number as a bottom feeder. They should do away with it that entirely.
Kevin McGonigle is on pace to reach base 268 times this season.
If that pace continues, his total would rank among the highest in recent memory for any player before the end of their age-21 campaign.
Below are the highest single-season totals since 2000.
Dillon Dingler leads MLB catchers with 3.5 fWAR, which is also tied for the 4th-most among all MLB position players.
The next closest catcher on the AL All-Star ballot has 2.3 fWAR, yet Dingler ranked 4th in last week's voting update.
