@Livingston4AZ talking about the cuts he will make to the portion of Medicaid that takes care of disabled children, because in his words of the cuts coming from Washington and states that he’s very concerned. So when people tell you - nobody that’s eligible is going to lose any services just the illegals and the able-bodied men you can tell them that’s bullshit and David Livingston said so
When politicians say the cuts are only about fraud, waste, and abuse you have to read between the lines.
The problem is that the cuts they’re proposing go far beyond just targeting fraud, waste, or people who could be working. There simply isn’t enough fraud or able-bodied adults in the system to account for the size of these cuts.
States get to decide how they spend their Medicaid dollars. But unlike the federal government, states are legally required to balance their budgets. When the federal government slashes funding, it’s not just numbers on a page, it’s real people who pay the price.
And here’s the truth: when states are forced to cut spending, they start with the people who need the most care. That means families like mine - families caring for profoundly disabled family members who can’t talk, walk, bathe, or eat on their own - will be the first to lose access to care, support, and help at home.
Even though there are laws saying that disabled individuals have a right to have care at home (which is less expensive for taxpayers, by the way), in practice, states can say they have a “waitlist” and so they are technically in compliance without funding the care.
So while this bill doesn’t say it’s cutting disability care, that’s exactly what it does. Not in theory. In reality. Please tell your legislators not to cut Medicaid this deeply.
Why don’t they stop funding pet projects and kickbacks to their cronies instead???
I also find it quite disturbing. You are giving credit to Livingston for that bill. He did everything he could to utterly gut DDD. The final form of that bill that went through was due to the efforts of Nancy Gutierrez and Julie Willoughby removing all the dangerous language put in their by David Livingston. He deserves zero credit.
@KurtSchemers@brahmresnik Yes, let’s talk about that . We really need to make a change in legislator.
They are wasting so much time, debating writing and passing crappy bills
Good bills get signed bad bills get veto’s

Are you still trying to find out what he’s done in Congress?
It’s pretty hard, right?
Because he’s done absolutely nothing 🤣🤣
So yes, let’s look at what he’s done in Congress like you said …
Hopefully Arizona is not dumb enough to nominate him, but judging from certain conversations, I have my doubts.
@MatthewGress wants control over your healthcare, your children’s healthcare, your aging parents and grandparents healthcare. When the bean counters control who gets treated and what they get treated for… well we know how it ends ⚰️

Facts matter he did not save DDD funding, he conspired with Livingston to gut it. Perhaps listen to his words during the countless committee meetings, and during his filibuster with Livingston, preventing any dissenting comments to be heard.
Or look at his complicity in stacking the committee meeting, hearing that defeated a bipartisan bill, his refusal to allow special-needs parents to be heard, The mocking a special needs children The list goes on and on
Maybe at one point he was a moderate,
But his soul has been sold And it’s time for him to go
