@FoodProfessor Wait, you mean the guy who said he won the 2020 election, that Mexico will pay for the wall, that he would end the Ukraine war in 24 hours, ect just said he is not looking at renewing???
@Maple_Bourbon For $100k, Canadians can get medical bankruptcies, frequent mass shootings, and a political system where the politicians choose their voters. What a deal!
@LarryToth14@BobbyBito44@spittinchiclets Should Germany be banned? If they were currently killing civilians in an unprovoked invasion, yes they should be. Once Russia stops the aggression, makes reparations, and acknowledges their wrongdoings, then they should be welcomed back like Germany.
@brianlilley FYI the US (and Canada and Mexico for that matter), could have walked away anytime with 6 month notice. There really is no significance to the July 1 date
@Yayayaxxxyaya@allenanalysis You said it Mr Geopolitical expert...Damn Canada, providing a secure, stable source of energy to the US at a discount, which forces American companies to refine and sell it for a big profit. Damn leeches!
@AndrewLawton Yeah that is usually how elections usually go in this country. Due to 3rd and 4th parties, majorities can be obtained with vote percentage in the low 40s. Nothing new
@joanne47358@CanadianPM You’ll be happy to know members of the Advisory Committee are not paid. For the uniformed, the way it works is the committee helps the PM decide what is acceptable in their respective area of expertise, and it’s up to Charette to execute within those parameters.
@a_friend_1970@trainofangels00 Perhaps US will be more reliable with the next POTUS, but the voters who thought it was a good idea to vote Trump in a 2nd term still remain and could vote Trump 2.0 in someday
@RealKrysKo@BNNBloomberg If you think he is doing such a poor job on this issue and assuming you want Canada to get a fair, decent trade deal, what would you advise Carney do in this situation? Or do you just think someone other than him would have magical persuasive powers over Trump?
@RealKrysKo@BNNBloomberg Canada’s “concessions” so far are minor, pragmatic de-escalation steps, not structural giveaways. Any rational, non bias person would say it is simply too early to tell whether his approach will be ultimately successful.
@RMC19861987 Also, time will tell if Carney’s slow playing strategy will work. An argument can be made that dragging it out as mid terms approach will put pressure on the US to get a deal done. Most people agree no deal is better than a bad one, and all Canada can get right now is a bad one.
@RMC19861987 True, it would but the US economy would be harmed as well albeit to a lesser magnitude. There is no way the American business lobby will let that happen. It’s all bluster and threats now. A deal will happen with Can making minor concessions and DJT spinning it as a big win.
