Sydney: Light rail trams, loaded with batteries and passengers keep catching alight. There’s been six fires in four months. The flammable batteries is a known issue because infact all the batteries had to be replaced - but the new ones are no better

Then there’s the tunnels. The light rail runs through the Moore Park Tunnel which is 1.2km long, and 40 metres below sea level. The Glebe Railway Tunnel is 800 metres long. The light rail has continued to run through these tunnels while the government has been fully cognisant of fire risk
