X-Cops (Season 7, Episode 12): A "monster" that manifests as a victim's greatest fear kills a character by causing a rapid, fatal, Hantavirus infection.

The Hantavirus often served as a "red herring" or a realistic, human-threatening disease used to mask extraterrestrial activity.
