@metlinkwgtn a tranzurban bus is stuck on Todman st causing major traffic disruption and forcing people on the 17 and 17e to walk home in the rain. The large buses should not be taking that way as a shortcut.
@metlinkwgtn 6:05pm Wellington to kowhai Park a no show tonight. Bus showing on app as 17e was actually a #7. Lots of people left waiting for a bus that never came
@roger_blakeley@BenoitPette@Peter456@greaterwgtn@DaranPonter I wouldn’t hold your breath given these companies are the same ones that committed to having enough drivers and running to the timetable with right sized buses 14 months ago. Still waiting to see that delivered
@ChrisCalviFree@NicolaWillisMP After 12 months what confidence do you think any of us voters have that noticeable improvements will happen any time soon. 12 months ago there were 80 drivers short. Today there are still 80 short. If the buck stops with the CE then he should be fired for poor performance
@metlinkwgtn@Eames_kiwi LOL. It's nice to have dreams. There has been a shortage of drivers for 12 months now. Recruiting a handful now might just cover those currently leaving due to low wages and unsociable hours
@metlinkwgtn You have cancelled the 4:27pm and 4:56 pm #17 buses. That means the previous bus that ran was at 3:57pm. The next bus currently on RTI (unless that gets cancelled as well) is 5:26pm. That's an hour an a half between buses! Do you think that is a satisfactory service?
@sarahfreenz@patrickmorgan@ScoopWellington@justin_lester@WgtnCC The new bus contracts have been in place just under 11 months now. None of the promised improvements have made any real difference. Quote from GWRC CEO at Sept 18 Select Cmt "My goal is that the bus arrives when expected and that there is space to take you on board". Yeah Right
@metlinkwgtn@Hackemesser Here's a quick summary: 100 days to study the problem, 100 days to test and see if solutions work and (assuming the solutions work) 100 days to implement= Don't hold your breath.
@metlinkwgtn@malosilima@DaranPonter Just imagine where we would be if GWRC had included a simple clause in the new PTOM bus contracts for realistic minimum terms and conditions for bus drivers. Do you think there would be the same amount of absenteeism that we are now having?
@roger_blakeley@amyherself@suekedgley@DaranPonter Almost 10 months after you put the new “network” in place and with your continual broken promises what faith do you think we have left in GWRC? Nothing heard from the CE about his undertaking to fix it either. Enforce the contracts. Not enough drivers is due to poor management.
