Russia’s invasion of Ukraine breaks the biggest taboo of the international order. Since 1945, no internationally recognized state was wiped off the map by external conquest. Russia is trying to do just that to Ukraine. Putin is following the imperial principle that any territory conquered by the Russian army is annexed by the Russian state. If Russia wins, no state and no border could feel secure, and the world will enter a new era of imperialist wars of conquest. The Global Peace Summit that will convene on June 15 in Switzerland is a crucial chance to restore peace and order. I urge world leaders to attend the summit, and together bring peace to Ukraine and to the world. Without peace in Ukraine, humanity cannot defend itself against climate change, out-of-control AIs, or any of the other existential threats that endanger our species.

Helm Ag recently acquired a majority stake in Plantix. Is it a case of 1+1=3?

When I profiled @PlantixApp for the first time in Sep’2020, I wrote,

"While agri-input firms invest in rural credit, channel and retailing, and agricultural extension services to the extent necessary to preserve the profit margin they gain from selling agrochemical products, crop-advisory startups, on the other hand, want to spread their services to as many places as possible - every agri-input firm they serve increases their addressable market."

Plantix has come a long way. As per their website, it covers ‘30 major crops, detects over 600 plant damages, is available in 18 languages, and has over 20 million downloads worldwide already’.

And like the proverbial Amazon jungle saying goes, it is "Day 1", when you explore the potential of this synergy between Helm Ag and Plantix.

Ideally if you notice something with your crop you should visit the nearest agronomist with a sample. They help identify the issue and prescribe treatment. You may not always have time or are in a far flung area. I find Plantix the most helpful when I can't get to an agronomist.
