Its disgusting how badly almost all if not all of these slaves were treated. Many were born into slavery. Not knowing anything of why or what real life was like. All to be mistreated and abused by a fat old man that deserves 0 respect. #AuburnWorldHistory
"Lashley gleefully boasted to anyone who would listen
that he would 'let them die and they may die before I pay out [any] more money for them.' He was not bluffing. " It is crazy to imagine someone that puts the value of a real human life so low no matter race.#AuburnWorldHistory
@emma_decaigny You would be surprised just how many universities were established by slave owners. If you think about the time frame along with the type of people most of the wealthy people were back then a large majority of them were slaveowners. #AuburnWorldHistory
In my opinion, our countries has made great strides toward fighting racial inequalities. However not all of the people in our country have made those same strides. #AuburnWorldHistory
@edpeterson1020 I agree. Access to media can give people that have little to no power so much more. The word is spread and people with power could hear about the problems at hand. #AuburnWorldHistory
The people we see in this documentary and undoubtedly all over the world are so brave. They stand up to fight for what they believe in even though they are putting themselves in danger and i am certain they are all terrified of the consequences they may face. #AuburnWorldHistory
It is terrible to see the people wanting change and peace while they are forced to "suffer the consequences". Of wanting peace and change? Some governments are truly terrifying. #AuburnWorldHistory
@overratedpunk I agree. I think that culture and music has changed so much over such a small period of time. People like Lil Nas X and Lady Gaga have expanded the horizons for people to be open and expressive with themselves and to use music to do that. #AuburnWorldHistory
While I had previously never heard of bounce music or its culture, but the energy around it seems upbeat and at the same time welcoming. It promotes feeling comfortable and free expressing yourself without stereotypes or judgement. #AuburnWorldHistory
To an extent makes sense to see the people being so open to a gay rapper here even from 2010. New Orleans is known for being a melting pot of cultures and orientations making it one of the best choices to make an impact during this time period. #AuburnWorldHistory
It is great to hear a positive story about an openly gay rapper back in 2010. I can't say that I have ever heard of Big Freedia but her story given here is eye opening. #AuburnWorldHistory
