My mate had a knife pulled on him last Friday.

He'd just finished work and was walking home like he does every week.

Around 7pm, he stopped at a bus stop. Someone accidentally bumped into him.

That should've been the end of it.

Instead, one of the lads he was with stepped forward, got right in my mate's face, and said, "I'm going to cut you."

Then he quietly pulled a knife from his pocket, keeping it low so people passing by wouldn't notice.

Over an accidental bump.

My mate said he completely froze. He looked around, expecting someone to step in.

Nobody did.

He slowly backed away, got into the nearest shop, locked himself inside, and called the police.

What gets me is that this wasn't some deserted alley at 2am.

It happened on a busy Friday evening, with people nearby, and everyone just carried on with their day.

Since then, he's barely wanted to leave the house. He still replays the whole thing in his head, wondering what would've happened if he'd reacted differently.

Nobody should have to fear walking home from work in this country.

Exactly 6 years ago Youcef Tebbal voluntarily dragged Axelle Dorier, a 22yo french nurse, under his car for half a mile, dismembering her alive.

On July 19, 2020, Axelle Dorier was celebrating a birthday with her friend in a Lyon (France) park when Youcef and his friend hit a dog while driving carelessly.
When the young nurse stood in front of the vehicle to stop it from fleeing until police arrived, Youcef Tebbal deliberately accelerated and dragged her trapped underneath his car hood for 807 meters.

She lost a limb, her body and bones scrapped the asphalt. Youcef even stopped, reversed and left again, knowing that she was still trapped underneath the car. Expertise later showed that the 22yo nurse was conscious during the whole ride. Youcef and his friend Mohammed then stopped and unhooked Axelle’s body from under the bumper and left the scene, leaving her on the side of the road.

Tebbal was later convicted of voluntary violence causing death without intent to kill and sentenced to ONLY 12 years in prison. During the trial his maghrebian family assaulted Axelle’s brother and family as well as the court staff.

You don’t hate them enough.
