Another great piece by Matthew Syed. He argues that the true extremists of our age were the progressive liberals like Angela Merkel; open borders, pro-Russian, even after 2014, and pro-China (Germany's car industry is paying the price).

I'd add to that the whole eco system of extremist progressives across the EU and UK in the media (BBC esp.), law, civil service, etc., who have worshipped at the alter of liberal causes; from trans extremism, to mass immigration and the cover-up of mass rape.

Merkel and her ilk across Europe were feted by the mainstream media. They will be buried by history.

Good shout out for @KemiBadenoch too. But Syed in his own way gives one hope for the future. right now we need it.
