Katie Hobbs wants Arizona to believe she is a moderate.

But before the consultants polished her image and taught her to hide what she really thinks, Hobbs made her contempt impossible to miss.

She smeared Trump supporters as a “neo-Nazi base,” called Trump rallies “deplorable,” raged about “Republican bullshit,” and mocked people for wearing Trump shirts.

Her contempt was never really about a shirt. It was never about a rally. It was never about working with Republicans.

It was about the voters in this state.

It was about the nearly 1.8 million Arizonans who voted for Donald Trump in 2024 and delivered Arizona for him.

Katie Hobbs already told those voters exactly where they stand with her.

Now she is more disciplined. More scripted. More careful.

But she governs with the same contempt.
