@GenTXer2@RonanD69 Great album! As a HUGE U2 fan, love Sweet Fire of Love and Testimony! I think Danny Lanois was the Producer ie The Joshua Tree. Just a great time for music!
White Water Rafting Guide for 4 Summers during College years in Northern Maine on the Kennebec, Penobscot, and Dead Rivers for Northern Outdoors. I met pro athletes, actors/actresses, models, corporate VIPs, politicians, TV execs (Survivor and Apprentice founder Mark Burnett who was filming the Eco Challenge at the time which led into Survivor) and the entire Kennedy family including JFK Jr and Daryl Hannah who he was dating at the time were regulars at our lodge bar and on the river. Oh, and the US Navy used to do under the radar F16 flights routinely dropping down into the gorge and flying just above the river..incredible! And the wildlife. Most FUN I ever had “working” it was just a blast. Worked with so many great people and I made life long lasting friendships to this day.
VH and U2 should not be mentioned in the same breath. I like VH, no comparison. U2 has sold more tickets, more albums, record setting Grammy wins, Innovated the entire Rock/Country/Rap touring circuit with ZooTV, Popmart, and 360 Tours, influenced an entire generation of rock/alt rock/indie bands, The Edge created an entire guitar wall of sound with effects and allowing space and within the music, made the cover of Time Mag as Rocks Hottest Ticket, AND the Sam’s four original band members still together now entering their 5th decade…oh, and STILL putting out great music and remaking relevant. When they release their new album this Fall, it will be the most anticipated album of the year and earn them more #1’s on the album charts, also a record they current own for Rock bands. But yeah, VH..not
@VikingGod351227@def_leppar20044 Haha! Art is indeed subjective sir! You just happen to be in the minority as it relates to the Beatles and U2. All good!
@Mikehomeseller Here are a few:
Exit - U2
Bullet The Blue Sky- U2
The Fly- U2
Bad- U2
My Sacrifice- Creed
Pretty Vicious-The Struts
Sex on Fire-Kings of Leon
Orange Crush- REM
@Mikehomeseller I could not and still cant get into much of Floyd’s work. I actually remember my Jr High and HS years and never did acid or drugs…which I feel is rather necessary to fully appreciate the band and in particular, this album. Money isn’t bad, love the sax solo!
@hawkin80670@OleTimeHardball I’m middle aged…I watched Barry. He was great! If the question is “most athletic and dynamic” RB in history, it’s him or Bo Jackson pre hip injury. Maybe Walter. But best in any sport is reserved for those with the records, imo.
Risk/reward. That said, clearly have relied too heavily on analytical and statistical models in lieu of old fashioned scouting (ie eye test) when making these decisions. Obviously, still too early to tell with Roman given the injuries and you probably can’t completely write off KC YET but the trend is disturbing. Agree that right now, looks like poor decisions but other than 27 year old Bello Bresbot still has some runway left with Ceddaene and a little more with KC and substantially more with Roman.
