Mexico very good tonight. Still don't know how good they are tho. Ecuador was the best team they've played so far and they can't score for shit. Mexico vs England will tell us a lot about both teams
Haven't filled out a world cup bracket but France, Spain and Argentina should all make the semis. That other quadrant with England, Brazil, Mexico etc is wide open. France seems like the safest pick to win the whole thing, but I picked Spain before the tournament started
Could still go on and on about other issues. The grass in some venues, the fact that the group stage has little jeopardy etc. Some of these issues fall squarely on FIFA. But some of them would not happen if the world cup was hosted in another part of the world.
Way too early for people (Americans in particular) to take a victory lap for the world cup being good so far. They have all been good since I started watching (2002). And although FIFA deserves tons of blame- the ticket prices, visa issues, and hydration breaks are a disgrace.
