If you missed the @CBSNews segment on brokers today you can find it here https://t.co/Aw2z7cUpqi. I'm sharing the whole thing because you need to hear the whole thing. While I consulted on and did the undercover interview a lot goes into these and Michael Kaplan did an awesome job, @GenLogs again played a huge role. At the end of the day we have dangerous highways because we have non existent or very limited barriers to entry. At the end of the day there are consequences of this that we must focus on like Delilah Coleman and her family. Marcus also did great in this segment. This is what we're fighting for. Highway accident mitigation through appropriate barriers to entry, and licensing standards among so many other things. Brokers are a part but they're not the only part.
Brokers and Shippers needing to understand carrier vetting post Montgomery, the sidekick, trucking lawyer extraordinare, Brandon Wiseman, breaks it down for you here at @TrucksafeLLC 👉

A semi-truck collided with an Iowa Interstate Railroad freight train Carnsforth on Hwy 21, causing 17 rail cars and two locomotives to derail. Per 511 Iowa.
If you hadn't heard, there is a British Columbia dashcam mandate that's just sitting waiting for final signature, which applies to large trucks. More on it here https://t.co/PY1TcUhUWi
This is why this country is in the mess it's in and why we can't get anything done. Our legislators are asking who won a 6-year-old election. I want to talk about real problems that we face today because of trash legislators and self-serving politicians.
🚨 JUST IN: Marco Rubio TOYS with insufferable Rep. Jacobs (D) 🤣
JACOBS: Who won 2020?
RUBIO: I'm not answering about 2020, this is a FOREIGN AFFAIRS COMMITTEE
JACOBS: You can't admit the shoes Trump bought you are too big
RUBIO: The Florsheims he gave me fit fine 🤣
JACOBS: Your shoes look nice, Mr. Secretary
RUBIO: How can you see them? They're way down here. We're talking about SHOES, are you KIDDING ME?! I mean, is this the Foreign Affairs Committee or a CIRCUS?! What IS this?! 🔥
I have two stolen Load Expert cases with CDLs, just like this one. Maybe people think two isn't a lot. Well, consider I'm just one guy in rural VA with dozens of expert cases, but two cases for the exact same circumstance of carrier ID theft to pick up a load and steal it by non-domiciled CDL holders is pretty wild.
Everybody listens to the words that Texas Leadership speaks, but no one digs deep enough to see that the State has an Intrastate carveout that prohibits state workers from asking if the applicant driver can speak English. Until they repeal this law, everything they say on English language proficiency is lip service. https://t.co/1YIy3LrjKp
@GordMagill Brother...Google the history behind this. I had so many questions because this is a real antique sign, so it was used somewhere at some point, but wild stories behind it, and some are NSFW
Nowhere in fed regs 300-399 or in part 40 is "0.00" ever mentioned at all. Maybe company policy, but not reg. You can be put OOS for even a "trace."
382.201 says 0.04+ is prohibited for CDL drivers performing safety-sensitive functions.
392.5(a)(2) also says no driver may use alcohol, be under the influence, or have any measured alcohol concentration/detected presence while on duty, operating, or in physical control of a CMV, which goes to trace, but the objective quantifiable standard is 0.04. We've never drafted a policy with a higher threshold than 0.00 because we believe 0.04 sets a poor standard, but that's the reg and theres a reason that's there
Ohio Troopers say a CMV on I71 was reported for dangerous driving. After the stop, the driver was arrested for OVI. FMCSA fed limit is 0.04, not 0.08 and there's 200k+ CDL/CLP holders sitting in prohibited Clearinghouse status. A CDL is easy to lose it needs to be easier in some cases.
I was raised by grandparents born in 1918 and 1938. You know why I didn't act like this? I got my ass beat, and if I really wanted to try my luck just as a test... just know I have dental implants for a reason. You get what you tolerate. I wouldn't have dreamed of acting like this.
I say this a lot from the US, but I still spend a 1/4 of my year in the UK, but my 10th grandfather, who came to VA as a Governor from the UK, was the 4th grandson of King Edward, and as a historical guy, I question how we got here in the West because I feel like half our issues are we dont drink froom the skulls of our enemies anymore. Our ancestors did not tolerate this.
