Watching #BlackMirror this semester, while taking #EDUC307 was strange as the show displays our tech advancements and social media dependance in a very dark and scary light!
"Things that go viral go viral because theres a certain mob frenzy" Group think is a huge part of social media and how with one video or meme we all know the same joke or commentary #lesson13
Privacy threats are a huge issue concerning social media and everyone should know how easily their information can be acquired and used online #EDUC307
A downfall of social media is getting caught up in negative and biased comment threads and allowing yourself to be influenced by outside opinions #EDUC307
#EDUC307 has often reminded me of my younger cousin who is currently in high school! He and his friends are extremely attached to their phones and cannot hold full face-to-face conversations.
@kwakuw1 Very scary reality but I think thats the reality we're currently in! Younger generations (even including ours to an extent) are extremely reliant on social media!
We've all gotten so used to recent searches being ads on our social media that we no longer question how it's traced. We're so connected that all of our actions and locations are tracked! #lesson13
@Maysterling7 Yes, very important that we not only filter our posts but also what we "like" as this is public and can promote negative messages and beliefs! #lesson12
@ange_t307 The line is very blurred and a lot of people will have differing opinions on this issue! Tech advancement is exciting but also very scary! #lesson13
@cdrimas_EDUC307 Great Example! I also think social media is an amazing platform for connecting communities and raising awareness on important issues! #EDUC307
