@r_monimaldonado@ClubAusten He is also too proud. Why did he think he could fight the creature? The creature had followed him with great speed and strength. Of course, the creature would be in the house. Of course he would be able to find Elizabeth. Victor is deceiving himself the entire time.
@Lucy_Cath@r_monimaldonado@ClubAusten Maybe if Victor had introduced Clerval to the creature, they could all be friends! Clerval was a truly beautiful person.
@ClubAusten Victor's privileged position in society (his loving family, and his natural abilities) allows him to thrive. He takes for granted that everything he does will be Good because he is a good person. 2/3
@Lucy_Cath@ClubAusten Maybe Victor just didn't think the monster was capable of killing someone like Elizabeth. But why did he think it would be good to marry Elizabeth for one day when he expected to be brutally murdered???
@r_monimaldonado@Lucy_Cath@ClubAusten I don't know exactly... it just seemed that JKR was so good at leaving hints that come back in later books. But in DH, the hints weren't tying together. It was too Gryffindor and not enough Slytherin using cunning and knowledge to defeat the Horcuxes!
@ClubAusten Very much! The part where Clerval and Victor traveling in beautiful weather was joyful. The weather often predicts upcoming tragedy. It seems the weather represents the creature's presence even when he is absent.
@ClubAusten@r_monimaldonado I see! (Just imagine the advancements in the medical field Victor could potentially have made if not for this project. Women's health research is always lacking!)
