At #MWC26 today, @UNDP & @Robert_Opp joined partners to discuss AI & digital inclusion in emerging economies.

AI is diffusing faster than institutional readiness. The real question: will it strengthen public systems — or automate inequality at scale?

Richer countries lose 0.2% of GDP to scams. Developing countries lose 3-4%, some up to 11%. Digital scams are a development crisis.

AI is moving from experimentation into daily use. and with it, the equity question shifts from who has access to AI, to how AI is used, embedded, and governed in these everyday systems.

An important discussion today at #IndiaAIImpactSummit2026. AI adoption is unfolding not as a single national decision, but as an accumulation of operational choices made inside real systems.

Today at the AI for Impact Global South Forum: Shared Solutions, Shared Futures at #IndiaAIImpactSummit2026, a clear theme emerged: AI is advancing faster than institutional readiness. Priority must be operational governance and sustained public sector capacity.

AI impact is already being shaped — through everyday choices about how AI is adopted, governed, and embedded in real systems.

This week at the #IndiaAIImpactSummit2026, @UNDP will share lessons from countries turning AI adoption into people-centred development outcomes.

What does responsible AI leadership look like when your “enterprise” spans 170 countries—and your stakeholders include refugees, farmers, and governments?

Our host- @spuri recently spoke with @Robert_Opp , Chief Digital Officer at the @UNDP , on the CAIO Connect podcast. A humanitarian first, Robert brings a powerful lens to AI: technology only matters if it improves lives.

Key takeaways for every AI leader:
🔹 AI should enhance people, not replace them
🔹 Inclusion isn’t overhead — it’s trust + long-term market strategy
🔹 Scale requires business ownership, not isolated pilots
🔹 If you can’t name who’s left behind, you’re optimizing for the wrong metrics

A must-listen conversation on AI, equity, and real-world impact.
