CANADIAN WATER BOMBERS FIGHTING LOS ANGELES WILDFIRES, AS MORE ASSETS PREPARE TO DEPLOY - Canadian water bombers are already in action over Los Angeles, taking on the largest wildfires in the city’s history. Two water bombers from Quebec and helicopters operated by a British Columbia company have been helping to fight the flames, which have destroyed thousands of structures, claimed at least five lives, and left entire neighborhoods in ruins.

Alberta announced on Thursday it is preparing to send additional firefighting support. This includes an incident command team, water bombers, and night-vision-equipped helicopters to help the ongoing efforts. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also confirmed that 250 Canadian firefighters are ready to deploy, with Canadian Armed Forces members and equipment on standby.

The Canadian assistance to its American neighbours comes amid threats by President-elect Donald Trump to place 25% tariffs on Canadian-made goods and make Canada the 51st state of The United States.
