Then quit teaching. Teaching LBGTQ is not what you were hired for. Math, reading, writing, English and real history. That’s why you were hired. We are #1 dollars spent per student in the world and have been so for every year except 2 years when we were #2 dollars spent per student and we are still like 38th and 45th math and science, respectively. We have kids in college that can barely read. Why throw more good money after bad? School choice is the way to go. Tax dollars follow the student. Maybe then the teachers unions will stop funding activism and get back to educating what they are supposed to. It’s sucks because these types of teachers, crooked school boards and superintendents, and activist teachers’ unions hurt the good, caring teachers.

The problem is that most people don’t understand economics. They have no idea how other countries actually treat us. NAFTA is a joke that hurt our businesses with Canada and Mexico. People are just ignorant. The goal is true free trade but it’s not free if we are the only ones doing it. Until then, and I have been saying this since 2004, reciprocal trade is the way to go.

I agree mostly. Service tips are for those employees who make less than minimum wage and make up that wage with tips based on their quality of wait service. This is not be confused with point of sale service like at a fast food place or Starbucks. They make full wage. Customary tip is 15-20%. This person’s 40% is a little egregious. However, if as a customer you believe you received exceptional service for whatever, then you can tip them even if it’s not a traditional business that would necessitate tipping. But for your traditional wait staff, be prepared to tip. I have tipped 10% for poor service and 25-30% for excellent service. This tends to be a uniquely American thing so foreigners may not know. Good wait staff and bartenders make well over the minimum wage AND now, the tips are tax free.
