I reported an assault downtown on my person to Officer Buckingham of PPB, I am 66 years old, disabled and working a part-time job driving a work vehicle, not my vehicle. This woman ripped the rear windshield wiper off the back windshield and threw it at me cutting my arm. I was on SW Broadway at SW Alder in front of Sunglass Hut. He told me me "That's Portland." " Do you want to press charges if we find her?". I said it's not my vehicle and if she did this to me, what would she do to the next person?.
Do your job!!!! PPB doesn't do their jobs. What do we do? Chase, Mace or shoot someone? Fend for outsrselves? This is horrible. I've lived here since 1969 damn it. Screw City CouncilChiefef of Police, mayor , D.A. this city sucks until they do better and stop stealing taxpayers' money.....a bunch of keystone cops
When you call 9-1-1 in Portland, get ready for the long wait to get even longer.

The Portland City council just passed a ridiculous budget that cuts police and fire services, which should be the bedrock of any city.
Citywide average response time for Portland sits at 19 minutes but in some areas you might wait as long as half an hour.
The new budget approved by the 12 members of Portland's bloated new city council cuts police positions, and overtime, and about 20-thousand hours of regular police service.
So, a city with an overall budget of 8 and a half billion spending less than ten percent of that amount on all public safety sees fit to cut even more.
At the same time, the city considers spending hundreds of millions of dollars to subsidize a sports arena for a ball team owned by a billionaire.
Like they say, Don't TELL me what you value.
Show me your budget, and that tells me what you value.
Funny been doing my transportation job for just starting 5th year and night before last was the first time I got assaulted by what Police said possibly homeless person, he "That's Portland"
You be the judge with your own eyes of things are getting better or just being pushed around
Last night, 6/15/2026.
I was working driving flight crew in and out of Portland to hotel and back to PDX. I drive only Captain and First Officers. I was parked on the corner of Alder and Broadway SW. Someone was standing in the street ,left lane, behind my work vehicle, that person finally got out of the street and landed on my left rear quarter panel with a thump. I opened my door and this person scampered over to the passenger side rear of my vehicle. I had to go get my crew and asked the person to move after I started my vehicle there was a car in front of me rather close to my front. This person didnt speak but grabbed and ripped off my wiper assembly and threw it at me striking my right forearm. I am 66 and disabled
This person ran down Alder, so I went to hotel and called 911. The officer finally called back after my night was done and I was home. He said "Well, this is Portland, do you want ot press charges if we even find the person? I said of course, because this person is probably not going to not this again. Haven't heard back. Gave my boss case number and officers name.
I will be exploring whether or not @clackamascounty can pass an ordinance to require a 2,000 ft buffer. If OR Dems in the legislature can do the right thing we will get it done at the local level. I will also work with other counties across the state to follow suite.
Democrats in Oregon have crushed a proposed bill that would ban giving out drug paraphernalia near schools & daycares. Far-left groups linked to Antifa have been giving out needles & pipes to homeless people, forcing children to navigate through used needles while walking to & from school. https://t.co/ZcPpAIueq6
Economist Mike Wilkerson emphasizes that Portland’s recession is both broad-based and deeply rooted. With the 4th highest job losses nationally and housing starts at a 15-year low, OR Democrats' policies have precipitated an avoidable economic
crisis.
