Paris Hilton was 19 when her boyfriend Rick Salomon filmed them having sex. He was 13 years older and kept pushing until she gave in. Two years later the tape leaked online, right before her show The Simple Life premiered on Fox. Then Salomon sold the full version to a porn studio. It opened with a dedication to the victims of 9/11. It became the best-selling porn title of the year. Paris says she never made a dollar from it. And later the same man married Pamela Anderson. Twice.

Paris met Rick Salomon at 18. He was a poker player in his thirties. In her 2023 memoir she writes that he kept asking to film them in bed. He told her that if she wouldn't do it, "he could easily find someone who would." "I got hammered, and I did it."

He shot it on a night-vision camera on a tripod. He promised it was just for them.

In 2003 Paris was in Australia when her manager called. A 37-second clip of her having sex was all over the internet. The Simple Life premiered days later to 13 million viewers.

In 2004 Salomon sold the full 45-minute tape to Red Light District Video. It came out on June 15 as "1 Night in Paris." The first frame read: "In memory of 9/11/01... We will never forget."

Paris sued for $30 million for invasion of privacy. The court threw the case out. In 2005 she settled for $400,000 plus a cut of sales and said she'd give it to charity. "I never received a dime from the video." Salomon reportedly made around $10 million from it.

At the 2005 AVN Awards "1 Night in Paris" won Best Selling Title of the Year and Best Renting Title of the Year.

Salomon married Shannen Doherty in 2002. The marriage lasted nine months. In 2007 he married Pamela Anderson, whose own sex tape had been stolen and sold a decade earlier. That marriage was annulled within months. In 2014 they married again. In the divorce he paid Pamela $1 million.

Paris Hilton never writes his name in her memoir. She calls him "Scum." In 2021 she said the tape is "something that will hurt me for the rest of my life."

He made millions off one night and married Pamela Anderson. She got a tape she can never erase.

Some lessons are written in other people's mistakes. Watch it once. Remember it forever.

In Paraguay zitten miljoenen inwoners door het faillissement van één bank zonder geld

De centrale bank van het land legde Ueno Bank stil omdat de bank minder dan de helft had van de buffer die de wet eist. Sindsdien kun je bij die bank niet meer opnemen of overmaken en doen ook de pinpas en de app het niet.

Dat wekte onvrede op bij de inwoners.

Volgens de bank zelf heeft ze bijna 3 miljoen klanten, terwijl kranten in Paraguay zo'n 1,7 miljoen rekeninghouders tellen. Ook het staatspensioenfonds had $355 miljoen bij die bank staan, terwijl 32.000 gepensioneerden er hun uitkering op kregen.

Ik snap dat je bij zo'n bericht meteen aan je eigen rekening denkt, want wat gebeurt er eigenlijk met jouw geld als een bank omvalt? Het geld op je bankrekening is geen geld dat jij bezit maar een vordering op de bank, een belofte dat je het terugkrijgt. Zolang de bank gezond is merk je daar niets van, maar valt de bank om dan staat jouw belofte in de rij met die van alle anderen.

Daarom heeft Paraguay een garantiefonds dat per spaarder tot ongeveer $38.000 vergoedt, genoeg voor 97% van de klanten van die bank. Op dat geld wachten de spaarders nog, want de centrale bank heeft voorlopig een voorschot beloofd van hooguit $1.675 per persoon.

In Nederland is je spaargeld bij elke bank gegarandeerd tot €100.000 per persoon, in Paraguay ligt dat bedrag veel lager. Valt een Nederlandse bank om, dan moet DNB dat bedrag binnen 7 werkdagen uitbetalen zodat je niet weken op je eigen geld wacht.

Heb jij €150.000 bij één bank staan, dan is €100.000 gegarandeerd en valt €50.000 buiten die garantie.

Wat er in Paraguay gebeurt, snap je pas echt als je weet wat een bank met jouw spaargeld doet zodra je het brengt. Een bankrekening voelt als geld dat van jou is. Toch ben je afhankelijk van een bank om erbij te kunnen.

Un creador de contenido ha utilizado Claude Code para descubrir que su móvil Android había almacenado más de 14.219 imágenes capturadas por la cámara frontal sin que él lo supiera.

Y lo más inquietante es dónde estaban guardadas.

No eran capturas de pantalla ni fotografías de la galería.

Eran imágenes reales tomadas por la cámara frontal en distintos momentos del día.

En casa, en el trabajo, en el coche e incluso cuando simplemente desbloqueaba el teléfono.

¿Cómo lo descubrió?

Conectó su Android al ordenador y utilizó Claude Code para investigar los archivos ocultos del dispositivo.

Encontró imágenes en directorios del sistema que normalmente no aparecen en la galería:

→ /data/system/users/0/faceunlock/cache
→ Directorios asociados a Google Play Services.
→ Más de 10.000 archivos entre fotografías normales e imágenes infrarrojas utilizadas para el reconocimiento facial.

¿Lo más preocupante?
Muchas de estas imágenes incluían información de fecha, hora y ubicación GPS.

El fabricante y Google explican que el reconocimiento facial utiliza imágenes para generar modelos de profundidad y que después se eliminan.

Pero en este caso encontró archivos originales almacenados en el dispositivo.

También descubrió que algunos servicios del sistema y aplicaciones con permisos especiales podrían tener acceso a determinados directorios.

¿Qué hizo después?

→ Desactivó los datos de diagnóstico.
→ Eliminó permisos de cámara innecesarios.
→ Limpió las cachés que encontró.

Pero hay algo que deberías tener en cuenta:

No todas las imágenes almacenadas en estos directorios implican que alguien haya accedido a ellas o que exista una filtración de datos.
Aun así, merece la pena investigar qué guarda tu propio dispositivo.

¿Quieres comprobarlo?

Puedes conectar tu Android al ordenador, realizar una copia de seguridad y pedirle a Claude Code que busque archivos de imágenes de la cámara frontal fuera de la galería.

La IA puede ayudarte a investigar archivos del sistema que normalmente pasarían completamente desapercibidos.

The European Commission announced today which countries are under “migratory pressure” and will be able to send away some of their asylum seekers to other EU states under the “migrant relocation quotas” created by the EU’s new Migration Pact. The countries are:

🇨🇾 Cyprus

These 4 countries will be able to put asylum seekers into a “Solidarity Pool” for 2027 from which migrants will then be relocated in other EU states.

The size of the Solidarity Pool was decided today but the information about it is being kept secret for now.

6 countries were classified as facing a “significant migratory situation” and will be allowed to request from exemptions of receiving quota migrants. Those 6 countries are:

🇦🇹 Austria
🇧🇬 Bulgaria
🇪🇪 Estonia

To receive an exemption, the country’s request has to pass a QMV vote (Qualified Majority Voting) in the Council of the European Union.

Countries which are forced to take part in the Solidarity Pool will either have to take in the number of quota migrants assigned to them by the EU, pay EUR 21 000 for every quota migrant they refuse to receive or send significant resources to help the 4 countries under migratory pressure to handle the situation.

Two countries have refused to take part in the entire new migrant relocation system and its fines. Those two countries are:
