The plight of 13-year old Beryl Akumu Juma reached us at the Kenya High Commission in Kampala, and we have not wasted a minute in finding and placing her in our safe custody. We have reached her family back in Kisumu County, and arrangements have been made for Beryl to be reunited with them. Priority now turns to returning Beryl to school and securing her a safe home environment.
Earlier today I was hosted at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uganda where I held talks with the State Minister for Foreign Affairs (Regional Cooperation), Hon John Mulimba and the Chief of Protocol, Ambassador Charles Ssentongo. Uganda is Kenya's most important partner in multiple spheres, including bilateral trade at both macro and micro levels, peace and security cooperation, and reciprocal support in multilateral fora, among others. We are committed to further deepening and strengthening the special ties that bind our two great countries🇰🇪🇺🇬
Landed at Entebbe International Airport this morning to commence my tour of duty as High Commissioner of the Republic of Kenya to the Republic of Uganda. I thank the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uganda for the courtesies, and commend the Staff of the Kenya Embassy for the warm reception at the Official Residence of the High Commissioner. I choose Africa over anywhere else in the world, anytime. Happy to be Home🇺🇬

May Christ’s love and sacrifice refresh and renew your faith and life in abundance. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
Held farewell talks with the Director General of the UN Office at Nairobi (UNON) @ZainabHawa as I wind up my tour of duty as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary/PR of the Republic of Kenya to UNON and UNEP, ahead of my next diplomatic assignment.
Also bade farewell to H.E. Lt. Gen. (Rtd) Peter Lavahun, High Commissioner and Permanent Representative of Sierra Leone, in his capacity as Chair of the African Group of Ambassadors.
It has been an honour to represent Kenya in the UN ecosystem, and to drive key agenda, especially the ongoing implementation of the Gigiri Masterplan that is expanding and upgrading the Nairobi @UN Complex to be at par with New York, Geneva and Vienna HQs. We have also robustly contributed to the UN@80 Reform discourse and delivered a successful 7th Session of the UN Environment Assembly (UNEA7).
Am particularly gladdened by how much we have elevated the status and aura of the Kenya Mission to UNON and UNEP in the space of one year. The Mission is stronger and more strategically positioned to project, promote and protect Kenya's interests and image within the UN and the multilateral ecosystem. @ODG_UNON@Kmunep
We have concluded a successful 19th Ambassadors Conference, bringing together all of us who have been honoured with the high responsibility of representing H.E the President and our Republic in the international arena. Pleased to be among the Moderators at the top level conclave. Refreshed and re-energized to project the very best of Kenya to the world.
Super proud of my CHAMPION BOYS. The DOUBLE act, Cheche and Terrah Ababu. Big up Kuka Luecheche for not only being a phenomenal serial winner, but also having the character to inspire your kid brother Terrah to rise and scale the heights alongside you. Stand up for the CHAMPIONS!
Busia is the gateway to Uganda, Kenya’s number one bilateral trade partner, and the African hinterland that includes DR Congo, Rwanda, Burundi and South Sudan.
The Kenyan Embassy in Kampala will work even more closely with both the County Government and NGAO in Busia to deepen and broaden cross-boarder ties in trade, culture, security and beyond.
Held fruitful talks with the Busia County Governor H.E Dr. Paul Otuoma on a wide range of issues of mutual interest.
Earlier today I met Her Excellency Dr. Canon Idah Betty Odinga, to commence the process of welcoming her to the United Nations as Kenya’s incoming Ambassador/Permanent Representative to the UN Environment Programme (UNEP). Mama Idah is guaranteed our full support as she gets ready to commence her tour of diplomatic duty in the service of our Motherland.
With Kenya privileged to be host to one of only four United Nations headquarters in the world, the KENYA Mission to UNON & UNEP is looking forward to benefiting from Mama Idah’s wealth of experience, wisdom and knowledge in further advancing Kenya’s strategic national interests on the global stage, especially at a time of the historic UN@80 reforms and the monumental challenges facing the very essence of multilateralism.
I once again condoled with Mama Idah for the loss of Baba Raila Amolo Odinga, my political father. We also shared thoughts on a wide spectrum of national issues, ranging from diplomacy to leadership and politics.
I thank the leadership and membership of the ODM for the warm welcome at the party Special Delegates Convention (SDC). Best wishes to you all as you evolve forwards and upwards.
Congratulations Senator Hon. @DrOburu_O on your confirmation as Party Leader of the ODM alongside other party officials at the Special Delegates Convention (SDC) today. I thank you and the Party National Chairperson, Her Excellency Governor @gladyswanga for inviting me to the SDC as a founder and 2nd Secretary General of the ODM.
Godspeed as you lead the great ODM Party in the next face of its evolution. Strong parties are the foundation for a vibrant constitutional democracy. May ODM grow from strength to strength and continue defending the very best interests of the people of Kenya, inspired by the party’s social democracy founding ideals.

Ndugu @JohnMbadiN , you cannot rewrite history bwana! No one ever fired me from the position of @TheODMparty Secretary General. When I couldn’t stand the everlasting party shenanigans, I had the audacity, the valor, the cojones and the honour to walk away, head held high, with my pride intact. The resultant headlines of that valiant move are indelibly etched in history and cannot be erased by myopic revisionism. I served with quintessential commitment and departed roho safi. And it is the best decision I have made in my public life, one I never have regretted once. Though proudly a founding visionary of the Orange Dream, I moved on, happily so. Please concentrate your passion and energies on strengthening the party, whose fortunes today are certainly not what they were in 2007, when we waged the most formidable political blitz in Kenyan history, or in 2016, when I boldly walked away in broad daylight. May the MV Orange retrace its original compass and put Kenyans’ best interests above all else. Strong well run parties are the building blocks for a vibrant constitutional democracy. I wish ODM well.
